Even though he had been out in the sun for so long, even though he had been on a field training exercise for a whole month, and so many months had passed, his familyâs Chief wasnât as dark anymore, whereas he...
Still looked no different.
Seeing their Chief glance over casually, the black-faced instructor scratched his head and then said, "I heard a lot of people talking about sister-in-law early this morning. Is our sister-in-law visiting the guard team? How come I havenât seen her? Chief, should we ask the dining hall to add a couple of sister-in-lawâs favorite dishes to the lunch menu to welcome her?"
"Sheâs been here for quite a few days already." James Black raised an eyebrow, it seemed Liam Woody still didnât know about Jane Sampsonâs situation.
As expected, the black-faced instructor looked astonished, "Been here for several days already? How come I never saw her?"
"Youâve been training her for two days, how could you not see her?" James Black sneered, "Other than her daring to say Iâm ugly, who else would have such braveness?"
"What?!" Liam Woody jumped up from the chair, "Jane Sampson?"
Liam Woody looked incredulous, but seeing James Blackâs expression that didnât seem like a joke at all, Liam Woody waved his hands again and again saying, "Chief, I need to go digest this information first."
After saying that, Liam Woody ran off, muttering to himself whether the chiefâs wife could really be Jane Sampson. Was it because he had trained Jane that day, so the Chief came to avenge his own wife? Thus, he was left with such a difficult question.
What if his wife was angry, what should he do, a perennial single dog like him? How would he know?
Unless James Black meant that Jane was angry because of him?
That seemed unlikely though.
When Jane saw him that day, she even took the initiative to greet him with a smile, how could Jane possibly be such a petty person?
It wasnât until long after Liam Woody had left that James Black got up from his seats, not going anywhere in particular, just straight to find Peter Gingery.
At this time, Peter Gingery was on the practice field talking with Lieutenant Johnson; their conversation was related to todayâs training. When James Black came down, Peter Gingery raised his eyebrows and called out, "Chief."
Aside from in private, this was always how Peter Gingery addressed James Black.
"Come over here for a minute." James Black gave Peter Gingery a look, then headed towards a deserted corner to wait for him.
After giving a few instructions to Lieutenant Johnson, Peter Gingery ran over, looking puzzled, "Brother, you wanted to see me for something?"
"How do you usually appease your sister-in-law when sheâs mad at you?" James Black didnât beat around the bush with Peter Gingery, pausing momentarily before hesitantly saying, "It seems like Jane is ignoring me."
Peter Gingery felt relieved inside his heart, grateful he wasnât drinking water at that moment, or else he truly would have spat it out.
James Black called him over here, not for anything else but to ask this?
"Manage your expression well." James Black put his hands in his pockets, his voice growing cold with a hint of threat, "Speak."
Peter Gingery nodded and spread his hands, "Jane has a gentle temper. Even if she is mad, she gets over it in two days, and as for appeasing her, thatâs incredibly simple."
Angry for two days? In two days she would have left the guard team already.
So James Black didnât plan to let Jane be mad for two days and then get over it herself.
When it was time to appease her, he still needed to do it.
This feeling of being ignored by Jane? James Black didnât find it pleasant at all.
"Keep an eye on what sheâs posting on Moments, see if thereâs anything she has been liking recently, if there is, buy it for her." Peter Gingery laughed, "Sheâs really easy to appease, brother, you just need to put in some effort."
