"Ah! Whoās there!" Jane Sampson quickly ducked back into the entryway, nearly bolting out the door.
"Jane Sampson, get in here!" James Blackās voice suddenly came through, harsh and rigid.
"James Black?" Jane immediately recognized the voice and realized that the man sitting there was indeed wearing a team uniform.
The moment Jane saw it was James, she instinctively smiled, her happiness so palpable she couldnāt hide it. "How come youāre back all of a sudden?"
While asking cheerily, Jane was about to throw herself at James, but...
Halfway there, Jane suddenly stopped in her tracks.
His tone from just now when he called her over replayed in her mind.
Jane took a few steps back.
She wondered to herself if she had done something to anger him today.
Today, she had been quite well-behaved, hadnāt she?
She hadnāt sneaked any snacks.
She hadnāt snuck any potato chips either.
But why did this guy look as if he was particularly angry?
"James Black, did you come back early especially to surprise me?" Jane stood there, hesitating to move any closer, instead she tried to probe, "Were you planning to spend Valentineās Day with me from the first moment it started?"
"What do you think?" James replied coldly.
Jane felt her heart skip a beat, and a warning light went on.
That was a question laced with a threat.
"Or did you bring me a Valentineās Day cake?" Jane thought it prudent to prepare for the possibility of spending the night at a hotel under the uncertain circumstances.
"You wish," snorted James.
After saying that, James stood up.
Seeing him move, Jane quickly grabbed her purse and, wearing her slippers, turned to flee.
But Jane was fast, James was faster.
Before she could make it out the main gate, James had already reached out and grabbed her.
With a yank, Jane was forcibly pulled back by James.
"Run for what?" James closed the door with a loud bang.
"I wasnāt trying to run, but you look like youāre about to eat someoneāI just got a strong survival instinct," Jane struggled to swallow.
Although she didnāt know precisely why to run, at that moment, Janeās female intuition told her she had to.
But what to do? She couldnāt outrun him, and she hadnāt made her escape.
Jane bit her lip and approached James cautiously and carefully, lightly poking his chest with her finger, whispering, "Are you unhappy? Why are you unhappy?"
Jamesās eyes were fixed on Janeās face, observing her lips reddened with lipstick, hearing her clueless inquiry about his anger.
Jamesās grip on Janeās hand tightened slightly.
Why was he angry?
His wife was enjoying the sight of other menāhow could he not be angry?
He was more than angry; he was significantly angry.
"Jane Sampson, do those young guys have such good bodies that they captivated you?" After asking, James sneered, "Compared to your man, who do you think looks better?"
???
!!!
Janeās face showed total shock. What kind of question was that?
"You! You! Definitely you!" Although she didnāt understand the question, she knew without hesitation what to answer to avoid getting dealt with at this time.
"Then youāll get your fill of looking tonight!" James said, and then he began to undo his buttons.
Jane was taken aback once again.
She quickly grabbed onto Jamesās clothes, "James Black, we need to talk, we really need toābefore carrying out a death sentence, youāve got to know what the crime is!"
