The first person to see Jane Sampsonās post on Moments was Old Master Black, who held his mobile phone in one hand while drinking tea, eyes wide open as he stared at the mobile phone screen.
It was just a few photos, but Old Master Black stupefiedly stared at them for several minutes.
Aunt Black passed by Old Master Black several times and didnāt see him move an inch, so she walked over curiously and asked, "Dad, whatās wrong? Whatās so fascinating that youāre looking at?"
"James gave Jane Sampson a gift," Old Master Black said with a bit of concern in his voice.
Aunt Black looked completely astonished, and a few seconds later, she came to her senses and laughed, "Well, well, has James finally come to his senses? Today is Valentineās Day, and he even knows to give his wife a gift. Not bad at all."
"Not bad what?" Old Master Black shook his head and passed the mobile phone over to Aunt Black, saying, "Take a look at what he turned little Jane into? Even when our Great General romps around outdoors and comes back, heās not this ugly. Whatās the difference between this and a madwoman on the street?"
Without having seen anything yet, Aunt Black already started laughing at his words.
Muttering in her heart, she wondered what James had done this time to earn such disdain from Old Master Black.
When she leaned in to glance at Old Master Blackās mobile phone, Aunt Black swiped through and looked over all three photos, and ultimately couldnāt help but burst out laughing.
"Dad, the hairpin that James sent is quite pretty, and considering how beautiful your granddaughter-in-law is, anything she wears looks good. The most important thing is that James has the heart to make the effort, though his handiwork is indeed lacking a bit. But you see, heās a big man who has never touched a womanās hair, so how would he know how to use a hairpin? Besides, now he only has his right hand to work with."
Aunt Black thought that James deserved some praise.
Compared to previous years, no matter the holiday, he was always with the guard team. On a holiday like Valentineās Day, he wouldnāt even make a phone call to Jane Sampson, but James has gotten much better now.
In his typically cold demeanor, he now showed a bit of human warmth.
"This is just a bit bad?" Old Master Black directly scorned his daughter, "Are your eyes not working? This is clearly very ugly. I feel a bit sorry for little Jane. Sheās so cute, so beautiful; how could I have possibly pushed James onto her? Iām wondering whether I should reintroduce to Jane Sampson a husband with good eyesight and good taste."
Aunt Black knew Old Master Black was just joking, but she was still amused by his words.
"Dad, before, I wouldnāt dare to guarantee it, but now, even if you introduced her to the Emperor of Heaven, sheād definitely not be interested. If James heard what you just said, he might just take all the tea leaves in your refrigerator and brew tea eggs for his wife."
This was something James would definitely do.
"What kind of pot fits what kind of lid; Dad, wasnāt that a saying you used to have on the tip of your tongue? James with his reserved personality needs a wife like Jane who knows how to be lively and animated to make his life a bit different. And someone as rambunctious as Jane needs someone with Jamesās reserved personality to handle her, to tolerate and accommodate her," Aunt Black argued.
In the past, Aunt Black had thought Old Master Blackās words were not quite right, feeling that people with dissimilar personalities being forced together were bound to be conflict-prone eventually.
But now it seems, the old sir indeed is an old sir, having a more accurate judgment of people than his daughter.
