Looking at the pitiful Mona Calm with tears streaming down her face, for a moment, Jane Sampson truly wanted to ask her what kind of feelings drove her to come to her side and speak those words.
Was it because she thought Jane Sampson was truly foolish and easy to fool?
After using her behind the scenes like that, she still came to her every day, chatting and laughing and being friends, just like a naĆÆve girl who knows nothing about the world.
"Iāll go find Hibiscus Wood later, Iām doing my makeup now, you go out first," Jane Sampson finally didnāt say much to Mona Calm, suppressing the restlessness in her heart, she told Mona to leave first.
Hearing that Jane Sampson would go to find Hibiscus Wood, Mona Calm repeatedly thanked her, "Thank you, Sister Jane."
After extending her gratitude, Mona Calm turned around and left the makeup room.
Jane Sampson just stared at the mirror, watching Mona close the door behind her, before she gave a self-mocking smile by curving the corner of her mouth.
It was almost when Janeās makeup was nearly done that Coco Edwards came into the room from outside, saying to Jane, "The director came by just now and told me to let you know that your script has been pushed to the afternoon, so you donāt need to hurry to change clothes after youāve finished with the makeup."
"Okay," Jane Sampson nodded, "Then I will wait until before we start filming in the afternoon to change, so I donāt wrinkle my clothes and have to bother the logistics team to iron them again."
"Since thatās the case, Iāll just give you a rough hairstyle for now, and I wonāt put the jewelry on yet, so your head isnāt too heavy," the makeup artist clapped her hands and then said, "Weāll leave it at that, you can go outside to get some air."
"Thank you," Jane Sampson expressed her gratitude, then she and Coco Edwards left the makeup room.
Jane Sampson saw that Hibiscus Wood was filming, so she returned to her own seat.
It was almost noon when she noticed Hibiscus had returned to her spot to rest, Jane Sampson then told Coco Edwards, "You wait here for me, I have something to discuss with Hibiscus."
"Go ahead, go ahead," Coco Edwards waved her off.
Regarding what Mona had said, Jane Sampson rolled the words around in her mouth but ultimately didnāt bring it up to Coco Edwards.
Jane Sampson didnāt know how much or what Coco had understood when she overheard James Black on the phone, but since Coco didnāt ask her after, and Jane had another matter on her mind, she didnāt immediately bring it up.
Rising from her seat without any hesitation, Jane Sampson walked directly towards Hibiscus Wood. When she arrived, both of Hibiscusās assistants happened to be away fetching something.
Hibiscus Wood, seeing Jane Sampson come over, showed no significant change in expression, but nevertheless, she said to Jane, "Take a seat."
Jane Sampson didnāt bother with pleasantries and sat down on an empty chair, then got straight to the point, "I have a question to ask you, and I think, you might be the only person who can give me an answer."
Originally indifferent as she rested with closed eyes, Hibiscus suddenly opened her eyes, her gaze moving directly to Jane.
That careless look slowly faded from Hibiscus Woodās face.
It was as if she had already guessed what Jane was about to ask.
And Hibiscusās expression also vaguely let Jane guess some of the answer to the question she had yet to ask aloud.
But Jane Sampson still asked that question, word for word.
