Sometimes, Brooke Black and her husband remembered that when they were at home, they would cook James Black a bowl of longevity noodles with a red egg, which was a must-eat for the birthday person in the Black Family.
However, Brooke Black and her husband were also busy at that time, so busy that they couldnāt always remember Peter Gingeryās birthday, so this didnāt happen often. Later, Old Master Black finally retired, and the company of the Black Family was finally on the right track, and Brooke wasnāt as busy anymore, but James had also grown up.
Originally a cold-natured person, he didnāt regard birthdays as anything important, just like Peter, celebrating however it should be celebrated.
It was because a few days ago the nanny mentioned it that Old Master Black remembered, and today he specifically came to the guard team to see James, even taking a detour to buy half a bag of longevity peach buns. Now, they were sitting on the dinner table.
"Then, Grandfather should stay for dinner here tonight." Jane Sampson was delighted, "Iāll cook longevity noodles for James tonight and make a bowl for Grandfather too. Iāll be cooking tonight!"
"Good! Good!" Old Master Black didnāt know whether he was praising Jane Sampsonās suggestion or praising her for celebrating Jamesās birthday. Outside the door, Peter walked in happily and took over, "Little Jane, add a bowl for me!"
Peter heard that Old Master Black had come to the guard team to find James and came over. As soon as he entered, he heard Jane and Old Master Black talking about dinner, and Peter didnāt wait for Jane to invite him before adding his own share.
He had no hesitation sitting next to Jane, giving a stern look towards James.
Knowing that James was going to take Jane to the shooting range, Old Master Black and Peter followed along.
As it turned out, talent wasnāt something that one could simply overturn.
That afternoon, Peter and Old Master Black entertained themselves by watching James grimly, hand over hand, position Janeās shoulders and arms, and then Jane consistently missed the target over and over.
Peter, looking at the two figures ahead, turned to Old Master Black and said, "Old Sir, how much longer do you think Brother can hold his temper before he curses?"
"No matter how long he can hold it, he must endure. Jane is his wife, not a soldier under his command. If he canāt endure and Jane is unhappy, he can say goodbye to his longevity noodles tonight." Old Master Black sat comfortably with his legs crossed, a happy laugh on his lips, "Janeās talent is probably all in music, who knows how many bullets it will take before she can achieve some results."
"It looks mysterious. Up to now, half of the ten shots are off-target," Peter looked at Janeās dismal performance. "It seems like Brother is almost out of options."
"There must be a way created anyway." Old Master Black was not worried in the slightest, "Take it slow, these two still have rough edges to smooth out."
Peter gave an acknowledging hum, then suddenly said in surprise, "Old Sir, do I sense a little schadenfreude from you?"
"Nonsense!" Old Master Blackās face relaxed, "Also, Jane is your age, and she has been married for so many years, whereās your girlfriend? When are you bringing her over for me to see? If you donāt bring her over this Chinese New Year, just see how Iāll deal with you!"
"..." Lipping off seemed to lead to getting shot, and Peter wisely shut his mouth and kept quiet.
The whole afternoon culminated with no achievements, so Jane eventually lost her patience sooner than James, her instructor.
Seeing the minute hand on Jamesās wristwatch pointing at four, and it was already 4:30, she directly spoke up, "I should go back and cook dinner. If I donāt go back now, it will be too late."
With that, without waiting for James to respond, she quickly ducked under his armpit, tossed the stuff in her hand away, and like a rabbit escaping for its life, she hopped and jumped without looking back.
James slowly turned around, and when he looked in the direction Jane had run, he could even see her ponytail swaying.
The successfully escaped person was so happy that even her hair seemed to take flight.
