There is a saying, "Long separation is better than a new marriage."
And the moment facing "long separation" is just like a honeymoon, full of sublime emotion that surpasses everything else.
Certainly, this led to James Black carrying Jane Sampson to wash up the next day. After she had washed up, he carried her back to continue resting. In a trash can, there lay an empty box.
Neither of them had breakfast, and it was almost lunchtime when James finally called Jane out of the house to send her back to the film crew.
At noon, Jane returned to the film and TV town, and while putting on her makeup, she kept rubbing her sore lower back over and over.
After dropping Jane at the doorway of the film and TV town, James didnât immediately return to the guard team but instead drove straight to find Rock Bell.
He had already arranged with Rock Bell yesterday that he would visit her at this time, so Rock Bell was definitely at the office.
Thanks to Rock Bellâs prior instruction, James had an unobstructed journey to her office.
When he arrived, Rock Bell was talking to several young newcomers. Seeing James, Rock Bell sped up her speech and soon drove all the unimportant people out of the office.
"Why not stay properly at the guard team? What made you suddenly think of coming to see me?" Rock Bell spoke while pouring a glass of water for James. "I heard from Peter Gingery that it was your birthday yesterday. No wonder little Jane asked James Chip for a day and a half off."
"Right," speaking of yesterday, a slight smile flickered in Jamesâs eyes, but it was quickly concealed.
"Are you here to ask about Janeâs schedule after this?" Rock Bell could only think of this reason; if it werenât for something related to Jane, James probably wouldnât bother visiting her in his lifetime.
"It could be considered that, or maybe not," James lightly tapped on the tea table, producing a soft knocking sound.
A few seconds later, under Rock Bellâs gaze, he continued, "Youâve been in this company for many years, right? Youâve established your own contacts and team. How long do you plan to stay in this company?"
Initially smiling, Rock Bellâs mood shifted, and she immediately sensed the undertone in Jamesâs words.
Seeing Rock Bell didnât respond, James wasnât surprised and simply stated, "I am offering you an opportunity, a partnership."
"Tell me your purpose in doing this?" Rock Bell believed that no pie falls from heaven above.
"I want Jane Sampson to become the center of attention as the Movie Queen in the shortest time possible," James stated decisively and forcefully.
Rock Bell was stunned by Jamesâs statement.
She really hadnât expected this to be Jamesâs reason.
It was simple.
Yet not that simple.
"Start from small to big, set up your own studio, and you will be fully in charge of her alone. Besides taking a salary no less than what you earn here, you will also get thirty percent of the studioâs shares," Jamesâs attitude was not much up for negotiation as he directly stated, "You can sign other actors in the studio, but for now, you must lead the whole team."
"But..." Rock Bell said, "You mentioned the shortest time possible, but little Janeâs contract hasnât expired yet, and she is currently a highly popular artist. The company may not want to let her go. My own contract just happens to have expired recently, and Iâve been contemplating whether or not to renew it this past half month."
"Courtesy before force. Whether or not your company is willing to release her in the end doesnât concern me. I, James Black, can still afford the penalty for breach of contract." James then chuckled lightly.
