After Jane urged him, James picked up his chopsticks, dipped a slice of beef into the sauce, and started to put it in his mouth, but he hadnât expected that just as he bit into one end of the meat slice, Jane pounced over and snatched the food right from his mouth.
He was caught off guard, and Jane bit off one-third of the piece of meat at the edge of his mouth.
Ironically, that one-third hadnât even touched the sauce.
After swallowing, Jane frowned unhappily, staring at his mouth with her beautiful eyebrows knit together.
"What? Itâs already in my mouth and you still want it?" James pressed his palm on Janeâs head, "Youâre really going out of your way for a bit of food."
Jane, feeling thwarted, hummed indignantly, her hands as if flaunting a victory that wasnât hers.
Looking at the slight smile on Jamesâs lips, Jane pouted.
He really looked too pleased with himself!
Jane stared at Jamesâs lips and humphed resentfully.
Two seconds later, she suddenly stood up, looking down at him from above.
Just when James thought Jane was going to throw a tantrum or act coy, she suddenly reached out, cradled his face with her hands, leaned in, and kissed him.
Oh, it wasnât just a kiss.
The moment their lips touched, her tongue cleverly darted inside his mouth, sweeping left and right, then gently hooked, drawing the unswallowed meat from his mouth, and took it for herself.
Then, she pushed him away, provocatively arched her eyebrows, crossed her arms over her chest, and chewed bit by bit, then swallowed the meat she had stolen from his mouth, opening her mouth to show him it was empty.
Seeing Janeâs triumphant face, James didnât know whether to be angry or to laugh.
"Sit down properly!" James said with pressing his voice, and pushed her back into her seat.
Her audacity had reached a boundless level now.
Jane chuckled gleefully, her face slightly flushed, though it was unclear whether it was from the spiciness or her own embarrassment.
"Is it tasty?" James flicked Janeâs forehead.
"Tasty!" she declared, having stolen it, it would have to be said it was tasty.
But in reality, it hadnât much flavor.
The dip of the sauceâs taste had been consumed by James.
The slice of meat she had stolen had been stripped of flavor by his chewing.
So, the taste of the meat slice wasnât as good as the taste sheâd sampled while kissing him.
"Tsch," James chuckled, "Behave yourself."
Jane responded with an "Oh."
However, in reality, the person who answered âOhâ wasnât likely to behave.
Once you start something, doing it a second or third time seems much easier.
James was constantly on guard, but Jane would suddenly pounce on him, either stealing food from his chopsticks or kissing him to take it from his mouth.
It was a good thing the courtyard was deserted at that time; she was really running wild.
"Jane Sampson! If you keep this up, weâll skip the hotpot and cancel our stroll," James threatened, his voice carrying weight, "Iâll take you straight back to the hotel."
"Back to the hotel for what?" Jane was genuinely confused at that moment.
"What do you think weâd go back for?" James shot back.
Jane paused for a moment, then with a soft, probing voice, she said, "It wouldnât be what Iâm thinking, would it?"
"Yes, exactly what youâre thinking," James confirmed.
Janeâs expression quickly changed as she raised three fingers in front of James and waggled them, "Before we left, youâve already had me three times. How can you always think about this? Keep this up and youâll exhaust yourself to death, you know!"
