Last night, Jane Sampson asked James Black if, while she was filming, he spent all his time sleeping. Otherwise, without playing on his mobile phone or eating anything, how did he pass the time?
In the morning, James Carter and Jane Sampson were still together with the film crew, but by the afternoon, James Carter had gone to the local hospital for outdoor scenes.
Jillian Carter visited the crew when James Carter went for the outdoor scenes, and upon arriving, she saw Jane Sampson, but not James Carter. Only after asking did she find out that James Carter wasnât there.
What surprised Jillian Carter was that she saw a familiar figure in Jane Sampsonâs spot.
It was James Black.
Every time Jane Sampson filmed, James Black personally accompanied her.
Jillian Carter felt a chill in her heart, thinking about how fortunate Jane Sampson was to have married such a good man like James Black.
"Cousin Misty."
Knowing that Jillian Carter was visiting the set, Stella Carter came over. On one hand, she wanted the crew to think she had a good relationship with Jillian Carter, and on the other, she genuinely wanted to strengthen their relationship.
"Who are you?" Jillian Carter asked, her eyelids lifting slightly. She sat on James Carterâs resting spot and asked in a flat tone.
"Iâm Stella Carter. When I was little, I even went to your home with my grandparents to pay New Yearâs visit." Stella figured Jillian wouldnât remember her, so she didnât use her real name.
"Oh." Jillian Carter truly didnât remember Stella Carter. She only recalled that, every New Year, a group of relatives she never usually saw would come to the house.
"What are you doing inside the crew?" Jillian asked, now recognizing a family relative, giving Stella a more earnest glance.
Upon seeing this, Jillian Carter noticed Stella Carter looked a bit like Jane Sampson.
And noticing Stella Carter wearing the same clothes that Jane Sampson was now filming in, Jillian guessed, "Are you Jane Sampsonâs stand-in?"
Stella Carter neither nodded nor shook her head but explained, "Previously, when the police announced the assassination of Jane Sampson, the crew needed to complete this movie, so they found me to replace Jane Sampson for the female lead and finish the movie. Later, Jane Sampson came back, so they didnât need me to act in the remaining shows."
Saying this, Stella Carter observed Jillian Carterâs expression, "Wasnât the filming interrupted for quite some time when Jane Sampson was gone? Her former stand-in took on other work and couldnât come back, and thinking I had nothing to do, I came to help the crew and simultaneously gain some experience."
"After saying so much, arenât you just a stand-in?" Jillian Carter sneered, "Did you need that much explaining?"
Stella Carterâs expression changed slightly. Jillian Carter was the first person she had encountered since entering society who spoke so directly.
It was the first time she heard someone speak so bluntly, with such unpleasant words from Jillian Carter.
"Yes." Stella Carter answered with her head lowered, "I am Sister Janeâs stand-in."
"They squeezed out your opportunity for the female lead, yet youâre still calling her Sister Jane and acting so friendly?" Jillian Carter sat there smiling at Stella Carter, "If Jane Sampson really died, that female lead position would be yours, you know. If you took over Jane Sampsonâs remaining scenes, do you know what it would mean for you?"
"It means you could soar to great heights, you could leverage this drama to instantly grab everyoneâs attention and access an immense pool of resources." Jillian Carter taunted, "Pity your bad luck, Jane Sampson came back, and your star dream fell apart."
