"All failures,"
ARIA whispered through his earbuds. "Every option too small to even be enlarged master. Too shallow. Too stained. There is no building in this city fit to hold you, Master."
He exhaled sharp through his nose, jaw grinding. "So, what then? Crawl into OnlyCeleb like a dog? Or buy scraps that wonât even bend the way I want?"
For once, ARIA didnât answer. Her silence was heavy. Calculating. Even she knew she had nothing better to offer.
The room felt colder for it.
Then Taboo laughed. Not loud. Not bright. Low and curling like smoke, slipping through the cracks of his skull.
[Youâre circling the wrong question, Master.]
His fingers twitched against the sheets. Sarah shifted slightly, her breathing still deep and even. "Am I," he breathed.
[Youâre asking what cage to rent. What scraps to steal. Wrong question. Wrong frame.]
Peterâs eyes narrowed at the holographic display. "Then whatâs the right one?"
The voice purred, wicked and slow.
[Why beg for space in their dens... when you could build your own kingdom?]
Silence hit harder than sound.
Peterâs breath stilled.
A kingdom?
"Explain...
Taboo."
[Not just a club. Not just four walls and a velvet rope. A skyscraper. A vertical sin-den. Sixty floors stacked with indulgence, each one dripping with what humans crave most. Pleasure. Secrecy. Power. You donât join them, Master. They join you.]
The words struck like lightning across his sleepless mind.
He saw it thenânot clear, not complete, but a shadow of it. A tower tearing through LAâs skyline, black glass and steel veined in light, sixty floors humming with life. A place where the locals crawled for thrill, and the one-percent crawled for privacy.
His chest rose sharp, like air was suddenly too thin.
Emma murmured something in her sleep, nuzzling closer. He forced himself to stay still, but his pulse hammered.
ARIA was silent for long seconds, processors humming. Then, softly:
...Itâs possible. Difficult. Ambitious. But possible. If we design it ourselves...
Peterâs lips curled slow in the darkness. "Not membership. Not scraps. A kingdom."
Taboo chuckled, dark and satisfied.
[Now youâre asking the right question.]
The words lingered in the air like smoke.
A skyscraper. A kingdom of sin stacked to the sky.
Peterâs pulse wouldnât let him stay still any longer. Moving with practiced care, he slipped free from Sarah and Emmaâs warmth, easing out from between them like a ghost. Sarahâs hand slid from his chest to the sheets. Emmaâs leg curled back against a pillow. Neither woke.
He stood, feet sinking into the black carpet, and moved to the center of the room. The floor-to-ceiling windows reflected him faintlyâa dark figure wrapped in restless energy, the city lights of LA glittering behind him like fallen stars.
He raised his wrist, the Quantum watch gleaming and he started moving his fingers on the hologram, system knowledge flowed as he started the design. He was like a technology and architecture god at once.
An hour later...
"Show me," he ordered, voice low but firm when he finished.
"Yes, Master."
The holographic display exploded to lifeânot confined above the bed anymore, but filling the entire room. Neon-blue wireframes burst into existence from the watchâs projection, spinning, expanding, filling the darkness with steel, glass, and light. The hologram stretched to 100 inches, then beyond, wrapping around him like he stood inside the blueprint itself.
At first just raw shapes: rectangles, grids, towering columns. Then more detail, each line snapping into place as ARIAâs processors sang. The tower began to take formâa skeleton of ambition rising from nothing.
Tabooâs laugh coiled through the room, invisible, curling behind his ear.
[There it is. Not a cage, not a lounge, but a skyline throne. A vertical labyrinth of sins.]
Peter paced slowly, eyes locked on the projections as ARIA stretched the tower higher. Behind him, Sarah stirred but didnât wake. Emmaâs breathing remained soft and steady.
"Sixty floors," he said quietly. "Nothing less."
"Agreed."
The hologram obeyedâfloor stacking upon floor, the structure climbing toward an invisible sky.
"Every floor alive. Not just dancing and drinksâindulgence, secrecy, power. Locals scrape the bottom. The one percent hide at the top. Each floor higher, darker, hungrier."
"A hierarchy of sin," ARIA breathed, her voice carrying something like awe. "Each level more exclusive. Each indulgence rarer. Those who canât afford it never even see it."
[Yes!]
Taboo purred.
[A kingdom where money isnât enough. Desire is the only currency that matters.]
The holograms shiftedâwhole floors snapping apart and re-forming in real-time. Casino tables spinning in electric blue light. Glass pools glowing like liquid sapphire. Private suites branching like arteries through the towerâs body. VIP elevators that only went to certain floors. Hidden corridors. Secret passages.
Peter stepped closer to the projection, studying it with the eye of someone who saw more than walls. His mind wasnât playingâit was carving reality from light.
"Foundations deep," he said. "Stronger than any quake. Steel spines, reinforced glass. A fortress disguised as pleasure."
ARIA responded instantly. The hologramâs base thickened, anchors rooting down like veins into the earth, seismic dampeners illustrated in cross-section.
"Privacy chambers," he continued, voice steady and precise. "For the celebrities, the billionaires, the politicians. Soundproof. No cameras. Places where even God wonât peek."
[Added. Biometric locks. Multi-layered privacy protocols. Faraday cage construction to block all signals.]
"And a vault. A real one. Not just for cash. For secrets."
The hologram shifted againâlower floors hollowing into a vault glowing like the heart of the tower, surrounded by security layers illustrated in red wireframe.
Tabooâs laugh darkened.
[Secrets for sale. Sins for rent. And you, Master, the dealer of both.]
Peterâs eyes burned with the reflection of the towerâs glow, the blue light painting his face in shadows and ambition. "Yes."
ARIAâs voice sharpened, almost reverent.
"
And at the
top?"
He didnât hesitate. "A palace. Mine. Ours."
For the first time, her silence lingered like awe.
The hologram spun faster now, the tower rising, refining, a kingdom of light and shadow sculpted in his room. The Quantum watchâs projection filled every cornerâfloors stacked with gambling, indulgence, theaters, lounges, suites. Higher floors glowing private, unreachable. The top crowned with glassâuntouchable, a heaven of sin above the city.
He stood there, bare-chested in loose sleep pants, dark-eyed, watching it unfold. Behind him, Sarah and Emma slept on, peaceful and unaware. The sleepless night had become something else. No longer a mission. No longer a doubt.
A design. A destiny.
[Not a membership. Not scraps,]
Taboo hissed, satisfied.
[But a kingdom written in steel. A throne carved into the skyline.]
Peterâs lips curved, slow and sharp, his reflection ghosting in the window beyond the hologram.
"And it will be mine."
The tower rotated slowly in the holographic display, 60 floors of impossible ambition glowing in the dark. The Quantum watch on his wrist pulsed faintly, a heartbeat of technology and power.
Outside, Los Angeles slept.
Inside, an empire was being born.
