The night was still young, and the ripples surrounding Jiang Qiuqiu were far from over.
Once again, it was the Federation Live Broadcast Company. Once again, it was the customer service department. And once again, it was a particularly difficult user.
"Hello, this is Agent 033 from the Federation Live Broadcast Companyâs customer service. How may I help you?"
"Why hasnât your company launched a VIP privilege service for nobles?"
A female voice cut straight through the agentâs headset. The agent: ???
"VIP privilege service? May I ask what kind of VIP privileges youâre referring to?"
"During the food tastings, shouldnât high-ranking nobles have the right to get a spot first?" Mei Linâs voice had a pampered tone.
The agent replied, "Iâm sorry, miss, but the selection process for our Federal Companyâs tasting events has always been based on the principles of fairness, impartiality, and transparency. The probability of being chosen is the same for all users."
There was no special treatment for VIPs. Of courseâ
Then again, there were, perhaps, exceptions.
"If youâre very eager to get a tasting spot, you can get on the streamerâs fan leaderboard and ask the streamer to activate benefits for their top fans."
Mei Lin was a streamer herself, so of course she knew about that feature.
And of course she was on the fan leaderboard, but!
"She hasnât turned it on."
"The streamer hasnât turned it on."
"..."
"Well, you could ask the streamer to turn it on next time. To show support for their fans, most streamers are happy to activate fan benefits."
"Thatâs not what weâre talking about." Mei Lin frowned. "Do you or do you not have a VIP privilege service?"
"Iâm sorry, miss. We do not."
"Then can I file a complaint to request it?"
"Of course. Weâre here to help you with any and all issues. You can leave your suggestion by filling out an identity form. We will then forward your proposal to a supervisorâs email, and someone from the decision-making level will see your suggestion."
Filling out a form meant registration. Mei Lin took one look and saw that just to submit a suggestion, she had to write down her full name, the name of her Family Head, the details of the suggestion, and the reason for suggesting it.
...
The young lady had never done anything so troublesome in her life. She immediately gave up on the form.
"I have to fill out all this information?"
"That is our standard procedure for suggestions. You can take your time filling it out, and once youâre done, just send it to our communications headquarters."
"Forget it."
The young lady scoffed. "This is so much trouble. Iâd rather just go talk to Uncle Qian in person."
With that, she hung up.
The agent: ...
There werenât many calls in the customer service department at that moment. As soon as the call ended, their colleagues came over, eager for some gossip.
"Who was that? What did they want? Sounded like they were making a complaint or a suggestion or something?"
"Not sure. They were acting really weird." Agent 033 rubbed their ears. "Said the form was too complicated and that they were going to go give their suggestion to Uncle Qian directly."
The young agent across from them nearly did a spit-take.
"Go see Chairman Qian?"
"Yep."
Everyone burst out laughing.
No one believed it was true. After all, why would someone who could get a meeting with Chairman Qian even know how to call customer service?
After hanging up, Mei Lin was still irritated that she hadnât gotten to eat the food she wanted.
Damn it.
âJust when will I be able to specially recruit this commoner as my personal chef?â
âThen Iâll have her make roast duck, gugu meat, rice noodle rolls, green vegetables, a whole Manchu Han Imperial Feast.â
âThe Dais family really isnât powerful enough. Otherwiseââ
âwhy would we have hired a personal chef whoâs such a terrible cook? And Dad still holds them in such high regard.â
She tossed and turned, craving something to eat.
...
âWhatever, Iâll just wait until tomorrow.â
âIâll have four servants use their terminals to snatch a spot. This time, Iâm going to eat my fill.â
And just like that, she had made a happy decision.
