When Jiang Qiuqiu arrived at the entrance, a Simulated Robot stopped beside her.
"Student, how can I help you?"
"Excuse me, where is the public admissions testing center?"
The robot smiled. "Oh, youâre here for the exam. Please follow me."
They passed through the campus gates, boarded a Hovercar, and flew straight east.
On the way, Jiang Qiuqiu passed many different parts of the campus. It wasnât the end of the year yet, so the current students hadnât started their break.
Seeing Sky City in the distance, Jiang Qiuqiuâs eyes widened. She leaned closer to the window and saw Mechas sparring in the air.
âWhat an eye-opener!â
Before long, the Hovercar came to a stop.
The Simulated Robot opened the door and led them to the testing center.
The testing center wasnât very crowded. The Federation had a fairly comprehensive educational system, so talented individuals were typically admitted to the appropriate schools at the right age.
Even for advanced studies, students typically took exams recommended internally by their schools.
This public admissions center was mostly reserved for specific groups: veterans from remote regions; people who, for one reason or another, hadnât awakened their spiritual power at the typical age; or students like Jiang Qiuqiu, who had withdrawn and were now seeking to re-enroll.
Young Jiang Qiuqiu really stood out.
They didnât have to wait long before the preliminary tests began.
Everyone lined up in front of a row of small rooms. Robots maintained order as people entered the testing rooms one by one.
Jiang Qiuqiu was positioned in the middle of one of the lines. Mo Chengyu had reassured her several times before she came, but now that she was at the door, she couldnât help but feel a little nervous.
Each person went inside for about ten minutes.
After a wait of nearly forty minutes, it was Jiang Qiuqiuâs turn.
The moment she stepped into the room, Jiang Qiuqiu could feel how formal the setting was.
"Enter your terminal ID into the machine, then come over."
"Whatâs your name?"
"Hello, sir. My name is Jiang Qiuqiu."
The teacher sitting across the metal desk adjusted his glasses. "Letâs start with a spiritual power test."
No sooner had he spoken than he pressed a button on the desk. A piece of ore materialized on the previously empty surface.
Jiang Qiuqiu recognized it. It was a type of ore discovered on a Deserted Star after humanity entered the new age. It was commonly used in spiritual power tests, as it could perceive the strength of oneâs spiritual power.
It later came to be known as the Stone of Destiny.
Jiang Qiuqiu focused her spiritual power, directing it toward the stone.
The test took two to three minutes. It was slightly exhausting to focus with all her might, and when she was told she could stop, Jiang Qiuqiu opened her eyes.
"Not bad. A-level spiritual power."
"?"
The moment she heard "A," Jiang Qiuqiu looked up, stunned. "A-level?"
"Whatâs the matter? You donât know your own spiritual power level?" For such a formal room, the teacher was surprisingly easygoing.
Jiang Qiuqiu shook her head. "No, thatâs not it. I knew what it was... but I tested as B+ before."
When she said that, the previously casual teacher looked surprised. He immediately pulled up her file. Seeing that her initial test was indeed B+, his eyes lit up with excitement. "Student, you must be a growth-type Spiritual Power User. Youâre only nineteen... A-level might not be your limit."
"To increase your spiritual power level, you must have done a lot of training, right?"
"Iâm proud of your persistence and self-discipline."
After praising her, he immediately had Jiang Qiuqiu run through a set of spiritual power exercises. A few minutes later, they both removed their helmets.
The teacherâs excitement had now turned into outright admiration. "You are an exceptional Spiritual Power operative."
