Jiang Qiuqiu noticed the change in his expression and grew curious. "You seem to really want me to go into the Spirit Healing Department. Is piloting Mechas a bad thing?"
"No," Mo Si said, gazing out the window. "Piloting Mechas is also good. Youāre very talented in that area as well."
"Butā"
"Qiuqiu," Mo Si said, looking at Jiang Qiuqiu, his dark eyes filled with a wealth of emotion. "Look back. Thatās Federation University and the Federal Military Academy. Nearly half the people there are Mecha Soldiers, but only one in ten thousand is in the Spirit Healing Department. Mechas are great, but the Federation needs Spirit Healing Masters more."
"Every year, countless soldiers retire from the front lines and never get to receive treatment from a Spirit Healing Master. Every new Spirit Healing Master gives the Federation another glimmer of hope."
The topic suddenly felt a bit heavy. Jiang Qiuqiu glanced back as well, but they were too far away. She couldnāt make out any people, only the sight of Federation Universityās Sky City shrinking into a tiny black speck.
"Is that so?"
"It is." A thoughtful expression immediately appeared on the young womanās face. Mo Siās features softened. "But you donāt need to feel any pressure."
"Iām asking you to consider it carefully because your aptitude for Spirit Healing is far greater than your aptitude for piloting Mechas."
"But the teacher at the test didnāt say that..." Jiang Qiuqiu had assumed she was just average in both.
"There are some things machines canāt measure." Mo Si raised his hand, and an incredibly fine wisp of spiritual power brushed across Jiang Qiuqiuās cheek like a breeze. "Take this amount of spiritual power, for instance. If I donāt want to reveal it, a machine canāt detect the slightest trace."
"You are the most talented aspiring Spirit Healing Master Iāve ever seen. If you choose the Spirit Healing Department, you could very well become the most outstanding Spirit Healing Master in the Federation."
"The most?"
"Yes."
āThe best?ā
"Iāll think it over carefully." Although she said sheād think it over, Jiang Qiuqiuās heart was already leaning toward a decision.
She liked being number one.
After they arrived at the courtyard house, Jiang Qiuqiuās terminal chimed. She raised her wrist to look, assuming it was a message from Sister Mingmei. The second round of the PK had already started, and her special leave of absence was over. It was about time to prepare for the competition.
But when she took a closer look, she was surprised to find it was a message from the female teacher she had met earlier today.
āAre you there!?
āI am. Is there something I can help you with, Maāam?
āThe test is over, you donāt have to call me Maāam anymore! Oof, I donāt deserve it, I really donāt!
āAre you Juju? Jiang Jiujiu, right?
Jiang Qiuqiu: ???
āI thought you looked so familiar the moment I saw you today! Iām one of your loyal food fans! Your team has been the one replying to messages lately, so we were all wondering where you went. Turns out you were enrolling in the academy!
She suddenly felt the Federation was a very small place.
āEnrollment is over now, too! Can I ask when youāre going to stream, Juju? Weāre all waiting for your second-round PK!
Jiang Qiuqiu was nearly swept away by the fanās enthusiasm. She paused for a moment, then typed her reply: Iāll probably start tomorrow.
ā!!!! Iām so excited!
āI was honestly too scared to ask for your terminal number today, but weād already met in person! I would have regretted it for ages if I hadnāt asked!
The conversation may have started out a bit stiff, but this... teacher was so lively in her messages that as Jiang Qiuqiu chatted with her, she gradually began to feel more at ease.
She even extended an invitation. "Once Iām enrolled, let me treat you to a meal, Maāam."
ā!!!
āIt would be the honor of a lifetime! Iāll be waiting for you!
āOkay, I wonāt bother you anymore. See you tomorrow, Juju!
"See you tomorrow."
