Herculesâ eyes widened when he turned back and saw the man in a thick black hood walking into the construction site, with two girls standing outside with their hands over their mouths.
âJust elite tier summoners. What about him though?â Hercules tilted his head, the eyes of his summon, which he fused with, gleaming brightly.
âI canât sense anything from him. Not even a tiny amount of mana.â He thought. To be able to completely conceal his aura meant this stranger was either a normal human or a powerful Throne Tier or even a Saint Tier summoner!
The latter might be the case here, for no normal human would dare approach them.
Godfreyâs ocean-blue eyes gleamed, piercing through the darkness of his hood as the bloodied, limp Lucy held by the Skeleton Centipede and Isaac barely standing with a bad wound in his chest that soaked his uniform in blood reflected in his eyes.
This was done by a fellow student? He wasnât even shocked, just extremely bitter.
His eyes hardened as he clenched his teeth and then moved.
Herculesâ eyes widened as Godfrey vanished from his sight. The next thing he saw was Godfrey had taken Lucy from Black Skullâs summon and walked toward Isaac.
Black Skullâs eyes trembled.
Looking at Lucy in his arms, Godfrey clenched his teeth harder and didnât even realize it. Some of her bones were broken, with cuts and bruises here and there. Her uniform was also torn.
"G-Godfrey..." Isaac stuttered, relief washing over him as he almost fell to his knees, but Godfrey grabbed him and gently allowed him to rest.
"Letâs go." Black Skull whispered to Hercules. They could already sense this young man was beyond their tier. His Centipede turned and crawled away with great speed while Hercules leaped into the air, but at that moment they were held in place by a telekinetic force.
"Where do you think youâre going?" Godfrey turned, his sclera had already turned black and his irises a piercing gold.
He clenched his fist, folding Black Skullâs summon into a ball of bones! Black Skull screamed. Blood spilled out from his orifices, and he fell on all fours, convulsing as his eyes turned white.
Some people had more violent reactions when they lost their summons, and it usually led to death. Black Skull was among their unfortunate ranks.
With a mere flex of his fingers, Godfrey made Hercules fly toward him. The Fanatic tried fighting it but couldnât as Godfrey leaped, grabbed his face, and slammed it into the ground, tearing open a fifty-foot radius.
The earthâs quaking went far, but luckily this construction site was big enough to keep everything contained.
Gum girlâs pupils shrank. All the confidence she had when facing Godfrey vanished like smoke. Sure, she had seen some of his feats on television, but seeing him demolish two King Tiers, which were so rare they made up just five percent of the global population.
"Where is Silas?" Godfrey asked coldly.
"Over here." A voice rang, and everyone turned to a portal from where Silas emerged with some of his classmates.
"I see now why the bounty on your head is in the hundreds of millions. I think it should be increased now that you can kill such rare King Tier summoners with ease." Silas barely finished when his eyes went to the corner; Godfrey was already beside him, and a punch came for his head.
"Sigh..." Silas vanished, and in his place was a thirteen-foot-tall robust black werewolf that stopped Godfreyâs full-powered blow by simply catching his fist.
The air exploded, the earth shattered as the fierce wind tossed the Manhattan students away. Even the huge slabs of stones from the collapsed building were displaced, and some hit other uncompleted buildings!
The black werewolf, that looked a little more like a human than a normal werewolf, exhaled while glaring at Godfrey like he was an ant. That gaze held intelligence.
âA Divine Tier summon? Who is this Silas?â Godfrey pondered as the werewolf moved. He blocked it but was swept a hundred feet away by the impact.
Silas walked out of the portal again, but this time he was followed by a crowd of summoners, most of whom had werewolves much taller than them by their side.
Their numbers grew to over a hundred and twenty, all standing behind Silas, whose hands were still in his pocket as he stood side by side with his Divine Tier summon.
"The great Shadow King, the most wanted man, the devil that loves death and stops salvation by keeping our way to the perfect life all to himself. I know you want to be a hero...but circumstances have made you a demon." Silas chuckled softly.
"You have to accept that itâs the authorities that decide who is a hero and who isnât. Everything you do will be turned against you, and you will run mad. Let me save you from that fate and kill you now. Trust me, this is a favour from a fan."
Godfrey tilted his head. "With an army of that size?"
Five portals opened, and four knights emerged. Dirge, Lament, Tempest, and Mountain, all of whom unleashed an army of a thousand! All of which were made of the dead who were risen through different ways.
"Youâre something, Godfrey. Whereâs your other summon? With your family? Iâd assume thatâs where it is since your bodyguard is officially useless and your mother is a helpless lamb in a jungle of predators. That aside, I know you donât know who I am; let me introduce myself."
Silasâ lips curled up. "Iâm Silas Bane. Yes, from the Bane family, the fourth strongest family in this region. I am the son of the current Mr. Manhattan, and we Banes, as our names suggest, are truly banes. Can you guess what Iâm a bane of?"
Godfrey squinted.
"Love and Loyalty." Silas declared as Godfrey saw his knightsâ eyes turn crimson as their hostile gazes turned toward him.
"Yes... I can make your summons your enemies. Is this army big enough now, theyâre your very own. Crazy, isnât it?" Silas smirked confidently.
"I canât wait to see you fight your own summons. Oh, to make this more interesting."
His werewolf, an 18.5 summon, growled and its eyes emitted a gray light.
âThis skill makes my summonâs targets blind. I have laid out this meticulous plan, and not even someone as powerful as you will escape this one. And so, the great Shadow King falls to me.â
Silas sounded pleased with himself before giving his command.
"Kill him."
