Usually, artifacts do not have a fully conscious spirit of their own, and the creators of artifacts purposely do not make fully conscious artifacts, as once an artifact becomes fully conscious, it can no longer be considered a ’tool.’

A ’tool’ does not need to think for itself, or it would become less efficient when used by others to do their bidding without the permission of the ’tool.’

A ’tool’ just needs to be useful when it is needed.

Raika, the Sword of Cosmic Order, is one of the greatest examples of a ’tool’ gone completely wrong.

She gained a full consciousness of her existence and thus became unusable for most everyone.

Even King Allen could only use her strength as a friend and couldn’t even force her to exert even the slightest bit of her power unless she wanted to do it herself.

Eventually, she even left him after some disagreement, proving that an artifact with a fully developed self-consciousness can be a big problem.

Thankfully, such artifacts are extremely rare, so rare that it’s almost impossible to encounter one even if you search for it for your whole life.

And yet, Rio had encountered one such artifact today.

"I must admit, you really managed to fool me for quite a long time. To think that all this time I was actually assuming that you were just a projection of someone stronger..."

"When in reality, you were something entirely different..."

A rare grin appeared on Rio’s face as he pointed his sword toward Raika’s face.

"You have fooled me long enough, but not anymore."

"I know your reality now, Raika. The Crown of Endless Realms. You are the manifestation of the consciousness of this crown floating above my head, aren’t you?"

A character with the name ’Raika’ never existed in the original novel, and the ’Crown of Endless Realms’ never had a consciousness in the original novel either!

This crown was found by Fade with his powerful luck and was used as a quick teleportation and hiding method.

This very crown was the reason why Fade was able to keep running away from Ashtel and never got caught.

As the name suggests, The Crown of Infinite Realms is an artifact that has the power of the ’Laws’ of ’Space,’ ’Time,’ and ’Dreams’ manifested in it, and its primary function is creating new ’realms’ for its user.

Moreover, it can use the power of the ’law’ of ’space’ to teleport its user anywhere in the universe as long as the user has the location’s coordinates and the location isn’t inside the sea of miasmic corruption.

Using this crown, Fade could come and go anywhere in the world and could easily dodge Ashtel’s or anyone else’s pursuit.

The crown almost made him unkillable, as once he retreated in his self-made realm, no one would be able to find him, as no one would know the randomly generated coordinates.

The ’Crown of Endless Realms’ is such a powerful artifact that it doesn’t even need to consume its user’s energy to function; it can directly borrow power from the very ’laws’ of the universe!

The teleportation ability of the ’Crown’ is so powerful that even if you place its user in a space locked with hundreds of space-time anchors, the crown would still be able to teleport the user away!

The main reason why Rio wanted this powerful artifact was also because he liked that it suited his image as an assassin that can appear and disappear like a ghost very much.

Rio came to the Beast Archipelago mainly to steal this chance of Fade, but even he hadn’t expected that the ’Crown of Infinite Realms’ would actually gain its own consciousness!

"The moment you told my about the Nebo Civilization and the fact that they were the ones who created the crown, I was already feeling that something was suspicious..."

"But now that I know the whole truth, it’s much easier to see your goals."

Raika, or Crown of Infinite Realms, ’Realm Weaver,’ had only one goal in mind; it wanted revenge for its creators.

To it, the Nebo Civilization was like a mother who gave birth to it, and to its dismay, the Nebo Civilization was destroyed mainly because of mana and miasma’s appearance in this universe.

So, Realm Weaver wanted to destroy the natural world order that had caused its ’mother’ to die an untimely and cruel death.

Fade Crest, the chosen of heaven, had tremendous luck which could be used to create massive disturbances in the cosmos but unlike Alverto, Realm Weaver did not have the ability to summon the spire of ascension as it couldn’t find the ’Fragments.’

Or perhaps it was entirely unaware of the ’Fragments’ in the first place.

So, in its opinion, it needed a powerful medium that could use the luck of Fade Crest and change the natural world order to its liking.

And that medium was ’Rio,’ the ’Anomaly’ that could mold himself into any shape and form.

Raika, the ’Realm Weaver,’ wanted Rio to be the ’Tool’ that would help him get revenge against the universe that caused the destruction of its ’mother planet.’

"No wonder it was much easier for me to fight you; if it was a proper SS-ranker, I would have not been able to fight them so easily..."

"You weren’t an SS-ranker in the first place but were just mimicking being an SS-ranker and using the ’Realm Weaver’ ability of the crown to mimic a ’World Authority’! How clever!"

Rio would have never been able to find out all these schemes if not for the fact that he got to assess the threads of destiny connected to Raika when he used Lia’s power to affect him.

Similar to how the threads of destiny give Lia premonitions and hints, once Rio activated that ability, he managed to get a lot of information out of the strings of fate!

"The odd thing is... that your self-consciousness seemed to have formed only recently and yet you have such mature thought processes that it’s insanely hard to believe that you aren’t an old fox that has been scheming for ages..."

"Tell me, Raika, what did you do to ’Aino Felicia’?"
