"Is Bai Jun’s wedding house ready?" Lin Wan asked from the side.

"Yes, it’s a two-bedroom, similar to Saozi’s place." Shen Bai Jun works in a government department and lives in the government compound.

If it weren’t for Grandpa having a house in the military district, and needing to take care of Grandpa and Grandma, Second Uncle might have been living in the government compound too.

"When’s the invitation out? Xiao Wan and I will head there in advance," Han Yi, as someone from the groom’s family, needed to help Bai Jun with the preparations and to greet the guests.

"The day after tomorrow evening, the restaurant is near Saozi’s shop. Lele and I have already talked to Auntie."

Bai Jun had already started following Peng Le’s family’s ways and called Auntie accordingly.

"By the way, has Xiao Jie come back?" After getting married, Shen Jie moved south with her husband and started working as a scriptwriter with him.

The couple hasn’t been separated.

"She came back, and as soon as her brother’s business was done, they hurried back. They said there’s a TV drama to film, and they’re busy revising the script this month, tight deadlines. They thought you’d be back this time, but you weren’t. So, she specifically asked me to bring these to you," said Second Aunt while taking out several books from a bag.

Lin Wan knew Xiao Jie would leave these books for her. Besides storybooks, there were also children’s stories and some related to fashion.

"Xiao Jie just knows my interests, picking all the ones I like."

"She’s always with Xiao Yu now, never home. Recently, her mother-in-law called me, saying she couldn’t persuade them and asked me to urge Xiao Jie to have kids. But Xiao Jie doesn’t listen to me either."

Lin Wan smiled at Second Aunt’s anxious look and advised, "People like them in creative fields don’t like to have kids too early. It affects their work."

"I don’t really understand their stuff, but I still have to say a few words to them."

Lin Wan chuckled without knowing what to say. Once you become a mother-in-law, you start to worry about urging kids.

Han Yi and Bai Jun’s second uncle chatted about outside matters; they didn’t like hearing about mundane family matters either.

"I see. If Brother and Saozi think it’s good, why not just buy it?"

"80,000? For over two thousand mu?" That’s not expensive at all! "Saozi, how many years is the contract for?"

"Seventy years. It felt a bit expensive to us, so whenever you’re free, your brother and I would like you to go with us to have a look."
