"Youāre in this condition now, you should be taken to the hospital, itās not appropriate to take photos at home, it can easily show flaws," Chen Haichang shook his head as he looked at Han Yi.
Han Yi frowned slightly and shook his head, "If I go to the hospital, itāll really blow my cover. Just take the pictures like this. In fights, very few people can beat me. If I come out with broken arms and legs, theyāll definitely be suspicious. Iām only making myself look this pathetic so they can see my sorry state, just in case."
"Alright, if thatās the case, you donāt need to pose deliberately, Iāll make it seem like I took them unintentionally, so it doesnāt look fake."
Following Chen Haichangās instructions, Han Yi went about his tasks, while Chen Haichang snapped a few shots on the side.
"Howās the driver?" After the photos, Han Yi asked. He had asked Chen Haichang for help when he returned to change clothes earlier this morning.
"Itās all set. You can go over anytime now; we canāt keep him locked up for too long," Chen Haichang responded promptly.
"Thanks, Iāll head over now." Han Yi quickly changed clothes and was about to leave.
"Letās go. Iāll go with you."
Chen Haichang had one of the underlings trick the driver into an abandoned warehouse. This place was deserted, making it perfect for interrogation or intimidation.
By the time Han Yi and Chen Haichang drove over, the driver, already locked up, had become anxious and uneasy.
When the driver was first taken there, they told him there was a private job to do. Once he arrived, he realized he was tricked. This area was a notorious old burial ground in the city, and this warehouse had been used years ago to store the dead.
By the time he was shouting to leave, saying he wouldnāt take this job, it was already too late. Realizing he was duped, after being locked in the warehouse, he saw no trace of them and scoured the warehouse without finding a way out.
Even during the day, there was no light inside the warehouse, shrouded in dim shadows. Items piled high reflected mottled shadows from the faint light seeping through the windows.
Outside, a strong wind began to howl, with the eerie sound gradually filtering into the driverās ears. The coolness penetrated everywhere.
The driver began to lose his composure, constantly changing directions and scanning his surroundings, his eyes becoming unfocused. Cold sweat started to form on his once-clean forehead. The unsettling stillness and eeriness of this place were driving him to the brink of collapse.
When Han Yi and Chen Haichang entered, they saw the driver crouched in a corner, with water stained all around him.
Chen Haichang chuckled, "Another coward."
The warehouse door was suddenly pushed open, emitting a heavy sound, yet to the driver, it was like hearing a heavenly melody.
Immediately, the driver scrambled out of the corner, lunging towards the door as if grasping a lifeline, only to be kicked back by Chen Haichang. The driver wailed on the ground, the panic and anxiety he had felt resurfacing.
The driver felt affirmed that those who had brought him here were definitely involved with the car accident. In truth, he had no fate of getting rich and now found himself in a catastrophic predicament.
Neither side seemed easy to deal with.
Once inside, Han Yi and Chen Haichang sat on the chairs brought by someone behind them. Chen Haichang lit a cigarette, gazing ambiguously at the driver.
"Do you need me to prompt you, or will you just speak directly?" Han Yi walked towards the driver, bending down and asking in a low voice.
The driver initially wanted to nod, but something made him shrink back when he met Han Yiās gaze. "Iāll... Iāll speak directly." His voice was timid.
Han Yi let out a snicker, "Thought it through? Think carefully before answering me."
The driver hesitated briefly, which did not escape Han Yiās notice. Chen Haichang leisurely waited by the side, and during the driverās contemplative silence, he instructed some words to the underling, who nodded and left with two others.
When they returned, each carried an object and placed it in the open area.
The driver looked at the sinister tools, feeling his fear deepen under their gaze, and Han Yi gave him a gentle smile that sent shivers down the driverās spine.
The driver, who initially intended to bluff his way through, lost his nerve.
"Do you want to know how these are used?" Chen Haichang asked, casting a meaningful look at the driver with a smirk, his gaze lingering on the tools. The driver swallowed hard, the sound conspicuous in the stillness of the warehouse, and quickly shook his head, saying, "Iāll talk, Iāll tell the truth about everything."
