Chapter 179: A Chance Encounter

Coming out of the He Family, He Jinxuan bought meat buns from a state-run restaurant with the two little ones, and then bought quite a bit of fine flour, catching the noon bus back to the Mechanical Factory. If it got any later, they’d have to take the afternoon bus.

Just as the bus left the city center, Ye Siyan spotted Yu Xinyan waiting at the bus stop: "It’s sister, it’s sister."

He said this while tugging at He Jinxuan’s clothes, pointing forward.

Following his direction, He Jinxuan saw Yu Xinyan standing gracefully under a tree not far from the bus stop, his eyes immediately lit up.

Ye Siyan turned to He Jinxuan and said, "Uncle, help me open the window."

Previously, He Jinxuan had closed the window to prevent any risk for the children sitting by it, but now the little one was anxious.

He Jinxuan reached over and opened a small gap: "Don’t worry, she’s definitely waiting for this bus too. You’re still young, the window can’t be opened too wide, it’s dangerous."

Ye Siyan clearly understood, and with the bus now full, he had an idea: "Later I’ll let sister sit here."

As he finished speaking, the bus stopped and Yu Xinyan got on, carrying her basket.

As soon as she steadied herself, she heard the voices of Ye Silai and Ye Siyan, and Ye Siyan eagerly shouted: "Sister, sit here."

Among the passengers were families from the Mechanical Factory, and someone joked: "Oh, after being taken care of for some days, they’ve developed feelings."

After hearing their conversation, people around turned to look at Yu Xinyan who had just gotten on the bus.

Yu Xinyan was feeling a bit confused, she looked towards the two little ones waving at her at the back. She originally didn’t want to go over, but then He Jinxuan stood up and walked over to her: "Go sit in the back, put your basket down here."

She wanted to refuse, but with everyone on the bus looking at her, she had no choice but to say, "Thank you."

She walked towards the two little ones.

Ye Silai scooted over a bit and let his brother move in too: "Sister, did you go to the city today?"

Yu Xinyan smiled and nodded at them: "Mm, did you guys have fun in town?"

Yu Xinyan understood, so He Jinxuan took the two kids home to see his parents: "So why are you taking this bus back?"

She originally wanted to give the remaining apricots to He Jinxuan, but seeing so many people on the bus watching, she gave up the idea.

The bus quickly arrived at the Mechanical Factory, and He Jinxuan helped Yu Xinyan get her basket off the bus: "You take them and go ahead, I’ll carry it for you."

But He Jinxuan decisively carried the basket on his own back: "Let’s go, I bought some flour, I’ll give it to you as well."

As they neared the entrance to the residential compound, Ye Siyan smiled happily: "Sister, we’ve got some goodies for you."

Then he ran towards the gate with his brother in tow.

Yu Xinyan habitually shouted: "Be careful, don’t trip."

They ran over to the guardhouse: "Grandpa Zhang, we’re back, here to retrieve the bag stored here this morning."

Uncle Zhang smiled and handed over the bag they’d left in the morning: "Take care."

He patted the little ones’ heads and saw He Jinxuan approaching: "These two little guys have made quite some progress, much livelier than when they first arrived."
