Two cars had their doors open, and several black-clad henchmen stepped out.
"Get out of the car!"
The leader barked fiercely at Lin Fan.
Lin Fan unbuckled his seatbelt, intending to step out.
Anna reached out to stop him, saying, "Let me go."
Anna got out of the car and faced the leader, speaking coldly, "Heâs not involved in this. He was just here to pick me up; let him go, and Iâll go with you!"
The man inspected Lin Fan and sneered, "Let him go? What if he turns around and calls the police?"
Anna replied, "He wonât. Calling the police doesnât benefit me. Iâll explain it to him. He definitely wonât call the police."
The man showed a hesitant expression.
At this moment, someone got out slowly from the car in front.
It was none other than Feng Wanshan!
Seeing Feng Wanshan, Annaâs face changed.
Feng Wanshan laughed heartily, "Youâre truly loyal, still protecting your master at this time. My men may not recognize him, but do I not recognize him? Mr. Lin, please step out and talk!"
Lin Fan watched their performance coldly. He had to admit, their acting was quite good, worthy of top accolades.
If Lin Fan didnât know their relationship, he would have been deceived, thinking Anna was truly loyal to her master.
Of course, Lin Fan also played along with them quite well.
So Lin Fan got out of the car with a shocked look, his voice trembling, "Feng Wanshan, what do you want to do? I have friends at the police department, donât do anything rash!"
Feng Wanshan paused and then laughed loudly, "Trying to scare me with that? Donât forget, it was your men who attacked me first. Go ahead, call the police and see what they say when they get here!"
Lin Fan said, "You hired people to cause trouble at my construction site, and I havenât told the police yet."
Feng Wanshan laughed, "Why havenât you told the police? Because you know I can clear my name. Hu Dahai canât prove I hired them, so you didnât inform the police, planning to seek personal revenge instead."
Lin Fan seemed to be hit with the truth, his expression turning grim.
Feng Wanshan grew even more complacent, "Mr. Lin, are you still planning to threaten me with the police? It seems to me our matter should be settled privately, without bothering the police, donât you think?"
Lin Fan bit his lip, appearing forced to compromise, "What do you want?"
Lin Fan chuckled internally. Indeed, he hadnât reported Feng Wanshan to the police because he anticipated Feng would wriggle out of it. With Feng Wanshanâs cunning, he would leave no evidence for Hu Dahai. At most, Huâs statement would only cause Feng minor trouble, but ultimately nothing would happen to Feng.
Thus, he chose another approach, using this opportunity to set up Feng.
Since Feng went through so much trouble to place Anna by his side as an undercover agent, he naturally wouldnât want this matter to reach the police either.
So it was a mutual decision to resolve this privately.
Feng Wanshan said, "You want to take personal revenge on me, and I want to teach you a lesson. I have a fun and fair proposal for you. I wonder if youâll accept?"
Lin Fan said, "Go on."
Feng Wanshan said, "Letâs have a match. Weâll fight, and whoever wins can make a request of the loser, which cannot be refused. What do you say?"
Annaâs expression changed, "Master, donât agree! He has experts with him; itâs not fair at all!"
Feng Wanshan sneered, "I doubt you have any other choice but to agree."
Lin Fan simply said, "Fine, I agree!"
Anna was surprised, "Master..."
Lin Fan smiled, "Itâs okay, I have faith in you."
Anna fell silent.
Feng Wanshan laughed, "Good, straightforward, I like straightforward people! I noticed your subordinates are injured, Iâll give you some time to bandage them."
Lin Fan chuckled and signaled to Anna.
Anna returned to Lin Fanâs side and said seriously, "Master, we wonât come out of this well."
Lin Fan didnât respond, instead saying calmly, "Let me see your wound."
Annaâs shoulder was grazed, blood oozing out, with some bruising around the woundâa genuine feat of her ploy.
Lin Fan, without hesitation, tore a piece of cloth from his own shirt to bandage Annaâs wound.
Seeing Lin Fanâs focus, Anna felt a sudden pang of guilt.
They were doomed to fail today, and Lin Fan was in for a rough timeâsomething she found herself unwilling to feel.
Anna chuckled bitterly to herself, wondering what was wrong. Was she truly beginning to consider herself Lin Fanâs? Even though it was merely an act.
"All done." Lin Fan finished bandaging Anna and smiled slightly, saying gently, "If you canât match him, just concede, itâs alright. I donât want you getting hurt again."
Witnessing this unexpectedly tender scene, Feng Wanshan frowned, sneering to himself. Lin Fan was such a fool; he could never dream that Anna was actually on Feng Wanshanâs side!
"We can start now." Feng Wanshan said with a chuckle and signaled.
The leading henchman rushed forward and grabbed Lin Fan by the collar, lifting him up.
"Let him go."
Anna spoke calmly.
"Heh, you want to hit me?" the henchman said fiercely.
Anna said, "I wonât repeat myself."
The henchman was angry, "You have quite a temper, huh?"
He pushed Lin Fan aside and advanced towards Anna.
Lin Fan quickly said, "You bastard, sheâs injured. If you have an issue, take it out on me. Bullying women, what kind of hero are you?"
The henchman chuckled, "Sheâs asking for it, canât blame me."
Lin Fan was anxious, "Anna, heâs one of Feng Wanshanâs experts. If you canât beat him, just concede. Donât worry about me."
Anna didnât respond or move, just coldly watched the henchman.
The henchman got right up to Annaâs face and arrogantly asked, "Woman, do you want to die?"
Anna said flatly, "Quit the chatter, get on with it if youâre going to make a move!"
"What did you say?" The henchman turned his head, laughing, "This woman is quite bold after all!"
Everyone laughed as if theyâd heard a great joke.
The henchman wiped his smile, "Youâve got quite an attitude. Lucky for you, Iâm not one to spare a lady. Iâll hit women too!"
As he spoke, he reached for Annaâs collar, intending to lift her as he did with Lin Fan.
Yet, before his hand touched Annaâs collar, there was a sudden scream.
Anna had caught his hand with lightning speed, so quickly that no one else could react in time.
The henchmanâs hand was locked in Annaâs grip, agony coursing through him, numbing half his body. He couldnât break free, his face pale with cold sweat dripping down.
Everyone around was stunned.
What was happening, Anna had subdued the henchman in an instant?
This... was too strong!
This henchman was a large, formidable man; Anna apparently shouldnât stand a chance. Yet, Anna effortlessly subdued him!
