Jason put his hand to the side as he called on the [Deathâs Mirage].
Woosh!
A black hilt appeared in Jasonâs hand, and a long blade made from pure mana erupted from the hilt! Jason immediately heard Esdeat call out from his mind.
âHuh? Where are we? What are we doing here? Whatâs with all the darkness!? I only slept for five minutes, and youâre already in another fight!? Why do you always attract trouble!?â
Jason wouldâve rolled his eyes, but he wasnât even interested enough to do that, and he instead turned to look up at Evon. Evon was still laughing maniacally as she watched the battle raging all around her, and Jason wasted no time as he shot off the ground!
BOOM!
The sound barrier broke multiple times as Jason flew past all the fighting monsters around him! He reached Evon in no time at all and brought his sword down in a wide arc!
SLASH!
But before the sword could slice through her, Jason realized that Evon was already gone! Evon had dodged to the left even faster than Jason could attack her, and she brought her spear forward in a thrust that left afterimages behind her!
BOOM!
The thrust was aimed straight for Jasonâs throat, and Jason was shocked when he realized that Evon was moving at a speed that was faster than his own! What the hell? Wasnât she just an SS Rank? Jason was shocked by the sheer speed Evon had, but even though her movement speed was fast, Jasonâs reaction speed was still faster, and that was the only thing that allowed Jason to dodge to the left! Jason spun around the spear and lashed out with a kick that almost slammed into Evonâs cheek, but Evon moved back quickly, and that only allowed Jason to graze her slightly! Jason activated [Iron Storm], and hundreds of blades suddenly shot out towards Evon and began to rain down on her, and Evon easily dodged all of them with impossible speed! But Jason already knew she was going to dodge it! All of that was just a distraction to give himself an opening for his actual attack! Jason came in with the [Deathâs Mirage] pulled back, and just as Evon was dodging the final blade, he lashed out with the sword and cut her across the neck!
Clang!
The sound of steel striking steel echoed through the region, and for a moment, Jason was too shocked to even react to what had just happened! Jason was literally a millimeter away from cutting through Evonâs neck, but Evon had moved fast enough and used her spear to slam into the hilt of Jasonâs sword to slow it down! But since Jason was stronger than her, she knew that her strength wouldnât be enough to stop his swing, so she called on ten different shadows that lashed out from the hill under her feet and grabbed Jasonâs body to make sure that he stopped his swing!
Jason clicked his tongue when this happened, and Evonâs mad grin widened! Evon could tell that Jasonâs sword was special from the amount of mana swirling inside, and that was why she refused to allow it to touch her! Evonâs spear had been created from a special material known as [Orelium] that was impervious ot all forms of magical attacks, and that was the only reason why the spear didnât immediately disintegrate when it came in contact with the [Deathâs Mirage]! Evon quickly spun to perform a roundhouse kick that was aimed at Jasonâs head! Jason brought up a hand to block it, but he suddenly felt the ground under his feet shift to the left to throw him off balance, and Jason clicked his tongue as Evonâs kick took him off his feet and blasted him across the air like a rocket!
BAM!
BOOM!
As Jason flew through the air, he pulled out a light-based artefact and threw it at the shadows coming after him!
BOOM!
The artefact exploded, and Evonâs shadows screeched in pain as they were forced to run away from the bright light! Jason slammed into the ground more than a kilometer away, and he flipped through the air before stabbing his sword into the ground to prevent himself from sliding back. Jason glared up at where Evon was, and he saw that she was moaning and clutching her eyes in pain from the explosion! The artefact Jason used was an A Rank offensive artefact called [Heart of the Sun], and it functioned in the same way as a flashbang. Jason had been hoping to use it to give himself an opening earlier, but Evon was just too fast for him to take advantage of it. Evon might be weaker than Jason, but she was just as fast, if not faster than him! Jason watched as Evonâs low moans changed into a low chuckle, and the chuckle increased in volume until she suddenly bent backwards like a stringless puppet while screaming to the sky like a banshee!
"I hate it! I hate it! I hate it! Youâre strong! Too strong! Thereâs something I can do! Something we can do! Your power is great! Yes, I can feel it inside you! Magic! Magic! So much magic! Oh, you have magic! Our magic is strong, but your mana is great! Iâll take that away from you! Hahahahaha! Thereâs no magic! No magic! No magic!"

Jason was shocked when he heard a voice echo this across the air around him, and he was even more shocked when he felt something strange wash over his body! His mana was gone!? Jason looked down at the [Deathâs Mirage], and he watched as the purple blade slowly vanished until he was left with only the hilt, and Jason realized that all the mana was really gone! Jason looked up at Evon and saw that she was still laughing loudly. How the hell did she do this? That small battle between them showed Evon that Jason could defeat her with his skills and Artefacts, so she decided that the only way to even the playing field was to make it so that they would both only fight with their physical strength! Evon took away all the magic in this world because she knew that Jason was stronger than her! Jason immediately turned toward his Legion, and he was glad to see that they were still fighting properly, even though none of them could see mana anymore. The gateway to Jasonâs Alternate Dimension could also be opened, and Jason realized that he could still use the base abilities from his Necromancer system.
âSo I canât use my skills and some of my Legion abilities that need mana, but the other abilities that donât need mana are okay. The voice said that no one would be able to use mana, so that means Evon shouldâve also lost her Gift, and she canât use mana at all. If this is all she had to show me, then this fight is already over.â
Jason immediately threw the Deathâs Mirage back into the shadows, and he grabbed one of the Advanced Dragonsteel swords before he called on the rest of the Rook Rank subordinates in his Legion! The shadow world was immediately filled with monsters, and their loud war cries echoed through the region! More than a thousand creatures of all shapes and sizes stood at the ready, and the superhuman and Dragonborn drew their swords and weapons! Jason knew that his subordinates wouldnât be able to use any skills that they had since there was no magic, and that would seriously reduce their fighting abilities, but that doesnât mean they couldnât win. All his Rook subordinates had S Rank or higher levels of physical strength as well as a 500% boost in their defences, so Jason knew that even without mana, they were still capable of taking on the shadow army.
