Chapter 755: Chapter 739: I Am Not a Slut 50
Anning didnât go home after leaving the hospital; instead, she went straight to Xiao Yuanâs place.
She put Xiao Yuzhuâs clothes in the washer, tidied up Xiao Yuanâs room, and by the time the clothes were washed, she checked the time and thought Xiao Yuan should have finished work, but he hadnât come back yet, so she called him. It turned out he had gone out on a call and probably wouldnât return until late.
Anning then opened the fridge to check and saw there were plenty of ingredients, so she cooked some food for him.
She didnât make anything too complicated, just steamed some rice and stir-fried two dishes.
While cooking, the clothes were done washing, so she hung them out on the balcony. Once the food was ready, she placed it on plates, set them on the dining table, tidied up the kitchen, left a note for Xiao Yuan, and then left.
By the time Anning got home, it was quite late. As soon as she entered, she felt an icy coldness in the house.
Seeing the whole family sitting on the couch in silence without any sign of a meal prepared, she found it strange.
"Whatâs going on here, is everyone fasting?"
When Mrs. Jiang saw Anning come in, her eyes reddened: "Can you blame me? Second, come here and judge for me, can I be blamed for this? I couldnât have foreseen that."
"What exactly happened?"
Anning quickly sat down to ask.
Mrs. Jiang recounted the events with a sense of grievance.
Anning then learned that Jiang Ananâs blind date had fallen through again.
As for the reason, it was because she dressed too well and the man felt he couldnât afford to keep her.
Anning found it quite amusing.
Today, Jiang Anan drove to the place where the blind date was arranged. By the time she arrived, the man was already there waiting inside the restaurant.
The venue for the blind date was chosen by the man, a rather upscale restaurant. Jiang Anan entered, the man stood up to greet her, and after sitting down, they talked for a while. The man was particularly chivalrous, taking Jiang Ananâs preferences into consideration while ordering, and his conversation and demeanor were quite satisfactory.
After chatting for a while, Jiang Anan felt quite at ease with the man and was quite impressed with him.
After eating, the man mentioned he had to leave due to some matters.
As Jiang Anan left the restaurant, she noticed a familiar figure sitting on a bench on the street; after looking twice, she recognized who it was.
Jiang Anan walked over and asked, "What are you doing here?"
The man looked up; it was Wei Jiaming, whom Jiang Anan had met on a previous blind date.
Seeing Jiang Anan, he gave a wry smile: "Iâm here for a blind date."
Jiang Anan felt they had a certain fate, so she sat down and asked Wei Jiaming, "Did you do it? Has the woman not arrived yet?"
Wei Jiaming waved his hand: "She came, then left."
"What happened?"
Jiang Anan was curious and asked a few more questions.
Wei Jiaming felt he had finally found someone to confide in, and vented to Jiang Anan: "The lady thought I was dressed too finely, said I was too effeminate, and that I looked like someone who attracts too many romantic troubles, so she just left."
Jiang Anan then took a good look at Wei Jiaming.
He was dressed very formally today, wearing a silver-gray suit with a black cashmere coat over it, and his hair was styled very fashionably. He was quite good-looking, with fair and smooth skin and expressive eyes. His nose was neither high nor low, and one could tell at a glance he was the scholarly type.
Jiang Anan took a few glances at Wei Jiaming and laughed: "I must say, I didnât notice what you looked like last time, but now that I see you, you really do look pretty good."
Wei Jiaming also examined Jiang Anan: "Youâre not here for a blind date as well, are you?"
Jiang Anan hummed a yes.
Wei Jiaming took another few looks at her: "Well, I must say, you look pretty good all dressed up like this. I didnât really notice how you looked last time either."
Both of them couldnât help but laugh at this point.
Wei Jiaming is quite an easygoing person, so he took out his phone and said to Jiang Anan, "Letâs add each other on Flying Messenger, you seem like a nice person, how about we become friends?"
So Jiang Anan took out her phone, and they exchanged phone numbers and Flying Messenger IDs.
It was too cold outside, and Jiang Anan didnât linger, spoke a few words with Wei Jiaming, and then left.
However, she didnât expect to encounter a significant setback when she got home. The guy she went on a blind date with had gone back and told the matchmaker that Jiang Anan was too vain, without the means, even renting clothes and jewelry for a blind date, making such a fuss. He also said that sheâs not someone who would settle down easily and he didnât dare to marry her, fearing he couldnât afford her in the future.
The matchmaker was also quite angry and called Mrs. Jiang, repeating what the man said, "I mean, if he didnât like her, then he just didnât like her, why make up such excuses, do I not know what kind of person my Nan is? That kid is so honest and upright, and yet he has the nerve to call Nan vain, pah!"
Mrs. Jiang was struck by the comment.
And then Jiang Anan was also blaming Mrs. Jiang, "I said I didnât want to dress up, but you insisted on making me. Look at whatâs happened now, I felt so uncomfortable in those clothes, I almost suffocated from the restraint all this time, and this purse, these accessories, do you know how scared I was of damaging them? If I accidentally bumped or scratched them, how could I afford that?"
Mrs. Jiang felt quite wronged about this.
She really hadnât expected the man to pick on that.
She also wondered why it had to be so hard to set up a blind date. Last time they complained she didnât dress up, and this time they complained she was too dressed up, what does one have to do?
When Anning came back, Mrs. Jiang happened to be fuming about this.
After listening to Mrs. Jiang, Anning took a look at Jiang Anan, "Forget about blind dates, if this one doesnât work out, and that one doesnât either, it just means destiny hasnât arrived yet. Besides, those two guys my big sister met for blind dates donât seem that great to me. The previous one just cared about appearances and the latter had hardly started before he said sheâs not wife material, pah, who does he think he is? Picking on this and that, my big sister could also complain that heâs not a decent man."
Third couldnât help but laugh along with this.
Seeing Third laugh, Mrs. Jiang glared at her, "What are you laughing at, huh? Let me tell you, your big sister and second sister can date, but you canât, youâre still in school."
Third felt a bit guilty, and she couldnât dare look at Mrs. Jiang.
But Mrs. Jiang had seen through her, "What, youâre dating someone?"
Third quickly pulled Xiao Hua over, "No, Iâm not dating anyone, just that thereâs someone in school who is chasing me."
Xiao Huaâs fur bristled instantly, looking particularly alert.
"Whoâs chasing you?"
Even Mr. Jiang couldnât sit still anymore, "Whatâs that kidâs background? Is he a classmate or someone from outside? Did you agree?"
Xiao Hua listened with her ears perked up.
Third looked down, not daring to face Mr. Jiang, "IâI havenât agreed yet, heâs from our school, his family is quite well-off I guess, basically... basically, heâs a rich second-generation. These past few days, heâs been putting up quite a show, playing guitar under our dormitory building, singing, and... and there were lots of flowers..."
"You mustnât agree."
Mr. Jiang was particularly anxious and kept advising Third, "Youâre still in school, you canât let those bad boys lead you astray. We should study honestly. Whatever you want to buy, dad will buy it for you. We donât need his money, got it?"
"Okay."
Third felt even guiltier, responding in a low, soft voice.
Anning scrutinized Third, "Youâre not getting swayed, are you?"
Third instantly looked up, "Not really, itâs just, itâs just that he put on a big spectacle, all our classmates are saying maybe I should agree, they also say he must really like me."
"Iâll visit your school one of these days and meet him."
Anningâs eyes narrowed slightly, already having dismissed the guy chasing Third in his heart.
Making such a scene every day, showing off his wealth, itâs like forcing Third to agree to him.
If he really liked Third, he would never do this.
That person probably thinks Third is pretty and stylish, chasing her because it must be quite prestigious to have her as a girlfriend, that must be why heâs after Third.
