Chapter 1123: Chapter 1097: After Being Possessed 7
Li Hai felt a bit of bitter anguish without tears.
"What the hell is all this? I just wanted to chase a girlfriend, is that so wrong? Now the heavens are retaliating against me by letting me pursue someone with a split personality."
He showed Zhou Peng the scars on his face from being hit: "Look, look, these are all from her hitting me. At night she hits people, during the day she calls me Brother Li sweetly. I really feel like dying."
Zhou Peng laughed unkindly.
"Serves you right."
He poured a glass of water for Li Hai: "You said you liked her, but the one who was with you before wasnât her. How could you not see it? Your love is way too superficial."
This time Li Hai truly cried: "Brother, please donât mock me, alright? Hurry up and think of a way for me."
Zhou Peng shrugged his hands: "I canât think of a way unless you eliminate her second personality or eliminate the main one entirely. Otherwise, she might cling to you."
Li Hai shrank in fear: "No, I wonât harm anyoneâs life."
In Li Haiâs heart, whether itâs Anningâs main personality or her second, theyâre both like living people; he canât bring himself to do harmful things.
"I just want to break up with her; I canât handle a girl with a split personality. If I continue to date her, Iâm afraid Iâll lose my life sooner or later."
Zhou Peng took a sip of water: "How about this? Go stay somewhere else for a while and donât let her find you. Havenât you said before that Miss Yan comes from a good family, looks good, and studies well? Sheâs the kind of person many ladies in your circle like, and she has no shortage of suitors. Just say youâre expanding your market and stay out of town for a few months, or simply go abroad for a while. By the time you return, she might already have a new boyfriend."
Li Hai thought it sounded reasonable; if he canât outmatch her, he can at least outlast her.
"Alright, Iâll take your advice and go hide somewhere."
Anning discovered Li Hai was gone, his phone number changed, he didnât reply to any messages, and she immediately knew what Li Haiâs plan was.
Anning curled her lips into a smile: "That kidâs not too bad, fine, Iâll let him go."
In the following days, Mrs. Yan kept asking Anning where Li Hai was, and why Anning didnât date Li Hai, among other things.
Anning appeared quite annoyed by Mrs. Yanâs questioning.
She immediately said: "Mom, whatâs all this about Li Hai? I told you I donât like him at all. Could you stop bringing him up in front of me? Besides, when did I ever date him? You keep saying these things as if Iâm clinging to Li Hai."
Mrs. Yan was taken aback for a moment and after that didnât ask these kinds of questions again.
A few days later, Mrs. Yan discovered Anning and Xiao Yuan were still involved, frequently having meals together, and sometimes Xiao Yuan would eat at Anningâs place near the university. Mrs. Yan understood what was going on.
On this day, right after Anning had finished eating with Xiao Yuan, Si Linna called.
"Ningning, mom found a psychologist. I overheard her talking to the psychologist about paying to help kill one of your personalities. Ningning, Iâm a bit scared."
After hanging up, Anningâs gaze turned a little dark.
Xiao Yuan asked her: "Whatâs going on?"
Anning sneered: "Some people, for the sake of personal gain, can even kill their own daughter."
Anning knew Mrs. Yan hired the psychologist not to eliminate what they saw as the second personality, but to destroy the main one. It was herself, Mrs. Yanâs own daughter. Mrs. Yan wanted the obedient, marriage-connecting second personality to take over the body.
"I finally understand why Yan Anning could be completely replaced by an alien soul."
Anning leaned against Xiao Yuanâs chest: "Iâm afraid itâs because Mrs. Yan helped the alien soul out."
She felt quite sorry for Yan Anning; itâs tragic that her own parents watched as she was devoured by an otherworldly soul.
Xiao Yuan hugged Anning: "I think, ultimately, her parents wonât meet a good end either."
That alien soul is no good, she has no feelings towards Father Yan or Mrs. Yan either, merely wanting to exploit the Yan Familyâs background for benefits. When she becomes strong, she might abandon the Yan Family or even retaliate against Father Yan and Mrs. Yan.
"What a pity, they canât see this at all."
Anning sighed, the saying wealth moves the heart is quite true.
Afterwards, Anning still carried on as before, going about her life normally, while her relationship with Mrs. Yan began to deteriorate bit by bit.
One day, Mrs. Yan called Anning to come home. When she arrived, Mrs. Yan was talking to a kindly-looking middle-aged man, asking Anning to call him uncle, to which Anning smiled and addressed him as such.
Mrs. Yan spoke a bit more to the middle-aged man and said she had to step out for a moment, asking Anning to help entertain the guest.
Anning showed no sign of precaution, behaving just like she usually did.
Once Mrs. Yan left, the middle-aged man started questioning Anning, trying to lull her into a sense of security within his words. Anning acted as if she noticed nothing.
They spoke for a while, and Anning pretended to fall under hypnosis.
After half an hour or so, Mrs. Yan returned.
The middle-aged man stood up, and Mrs. Yan asked him: "Did it work?"
The middle-aged man smiled: "It worked."
Mrs. Yan appeared particularly pleased: "Donât speak a word of todayâs happenings to anyone."
The middle-aged man nodded, and Mrs. Yan escorted him out of the house.
After she came back, she found Anning sitting coldly on the sofa, watching her.
"Ningning?"
Mrs. Yan was startled.
Anningâs face remained sullen: "Mom, I never imagined youâd disregard our mother-daughter bond entirely. Just because I donât follow your orders, refusing to marry as you wish, you want to kill me. Ha, if it wasnât for my Divine Soul becoming stronger during my battle for control over my body with the alien soul, you might have succeeded."
"Ningning, no, listen to your mother."
Mrs. Yan became flustered, trying to defend herself, but Anning refused to listen: "Mom, this is the last time Iâll call you that. I donât need a mother whoâs only driven by self-interest, devoid of any genuine feelings. From this moment on, I will move out. Our mother-daughter relationship is hereby severed."
Anning stood up and went upstairs.
Mrs. Yan felt choked with anger: "Fine, since you say this, then donât take a penny from this house. What are you going upstairs to pack for? Leave now. Besides, the house near University City was bought by your father and me. If youâre really tough, donât go living there either."
Anning turned around with a smile: "See, already shame turned to anger. Fine, I donât need it. I have my hands and feet, I can support myself."
She didnât go upstairs after all, leaving Yan home with just a small backpack.
As she was leaving, she happened upon Shi Ye.
Shi Ye smiled upon seeing Anning: "Heading back to school?"
Anning, with a cold face, didnât respond. Shi Ye was a bit puzzled: "Ningning, whatâs wrong?"
Anning gestured to the house: "Go in and ask yourself, although I advise you not to ask or youâll get scolded."
After speaking, Anning quickly walked away from the community.
Once she left the community, she called Si Linna: "Sis, do you have time?"
After a while, Si Linna drove over, and Anning got into the car. Si Linna scrutinized her: "You are Ningning, right?"
Anning smiled and hugged Si Linna: "Sis, Iâm back."
Si Linna visibly relaxed upon hearing that: "Really? Has that thing left?"
Anning nodded: "Yes, I used the psychologist to hypnotize that thing, and took the chance to drive her away. From now on, I wonât fear disappearing without warning, nor will I hurt you unknowingly, Sis."
Anning whispered to Si Linna: "Sis, Iâve severed ties with my parents; from now on, youâre my only family."
Si Linna patted Anningâs back, comforting her silently.
After a while, Si Linna started the car: "Come on, Sis will treat you to a feast."
