"So what?" Ye Ziâan couldnât figure it out for a moment; this is also why he wasnât responsible for the childrenâs attire.
"Youâre silly." Yang Chuxia glared at him, "He and Yangyang have quite a few identical items. That piece of ink jade pendant was something I got for them when I was in Mianyang. Each child got one, and the tassel pattern on them is exactly the same."
"Like this? Then I understand." Ye Ziâan smiled helplessly, "He borrowed Yangyangâs jade pendant to confuse your eyes."
"Exactly!" Yang Chuxia said angrily, "I can ignore what he does outside, but pawning items definitely cannot happen a second time. What if Yangyang follows his lead? Yangyang likes so many things; he wants to buy everything he finds fun or nice to look at. If he runs out of silver, wonât he pawn them all away?"
"Thatâs not possible, is it? Yangyang doesnât have such big ideas, he probably wouldnât do that."
"Yangyang may not have many ideas, but heâs bold. What would he not dare?" Yang Chuxia felt it was necessary to have a talk with her son.
"Iâll talk to him about this." Ye Ziâan saw her face wasnât too good, so he took the matter into his own hands, thinking that with her attitude, it might make their son resent her.
"Fine, you go speak with him."
Yang Chuxia didnât argue with him and, after taking a nap, went to the kitchen with the servants to make mooncakes.
The mooncake molds were readily available, but they werenât very pretty; they were some ordinary round flower shapes.
Yang Chuxia had someone prepare another set of molds early on. There were shapes adults liked: triangles, goblet shapes, floral patterns, and those kids liked: animal shapes, little rabbits, little tigers. She had eight kinds of animals made.
As for the filling, she prepared fresh meat, egg yolk, plus seasoned, fruit flavors, and more.
When Yangyang and Lele finished class with their tutor and got home, they found the plates full of various shaped mooncakes.
"Mother, are these really mooncakes?" Yangyang looked at the little tiger in his hand; it was so cute he couldnât bear to eat it.
"Taste it and youâll know."
While Yangyang was still looking, Lele already started eating, "Wow, mom, your mooncakes are amazing!"
"Is this meat?" Yangyang went to look at his siblingsâ mooncakes and found everyoneâs was different. He took a bite of his and realized it was different from theirs too, "Mine has egg yolk; delicious, mom, youâre incredible. I take back what I said about your cooking skills."
"I knew youâd say that." Yang Chuxia laughed.
"Hehe, delicious. Mother, I really like this egg yolk one." Yangyang finished one, and though he wanted to take another, he paused and said, "Mom, did you make a lot? Could you share some with Uncle Muâs family? Aunt Dongyang is expecting a baby; she might like these."
"I think you just want to send them to your wife." Lele chimed in from the side, "The baby is in Aunt Dongyangâs belly. Aunt eats, the baby eats, so itâs like your wife eating."
"..." Yangyang looked at him gloomily, "Not even mooncakes can shut your mouth."
"So son, are you admitting what your brother said?" Yang Chuxia asked, internally sighing; her son knew how to care for his wife from a young age, itâs truly exasperating.
"Of course." Yangyang nodded seriously. "Brother doesnât have a wife, so he wouldnât understand my feelings."
