Director Liang was escorted out of the laboratory building, while Ryan ordered his team to transfer the explosives from the teaching building to the lab.

Though the explosives were small, they were powerful enough to turn the entire building to rubble.

Only then did Gu Yang release the Physicist.

The Physicist instructed the Utopia Organization members to bring over a box, and with it, he quickly assembled a machine resembling a hospital CT scanner.

He turned to Gu Yang, saying, “Sit in the center circle. The light cone experiment won’t harm you; it’s merely to confirm our hypothesis.”

She settled onto the physicist’s space-time machine. A fervent gleam appeared in the Physicist’s eyes as he powered it up, and the Mobius ring on Gu Yang’s wrist glowed brilliantly.

During the last light cone experiment, she was in a coma and was unaware of the process.

She woke up and watched the entire process of the light cone experiment.

Just then, Gu Yang heard gunshots from afar.

Director Liang had been found out.

Even though she knew this would happen, Gu Yang still felt angry. “I said not to touch them.”

Just before she fainted, her fingertips moved slightly, and a golden thread shot out towards the Physicist.

Ryan quickly pulled the Physicist away, but he only avoided the vital parts.

The golden wire pierced through the Physicist’s shoulder and landed on the pile of explosives behind him, breaking all the wires.

Ryan, the Physicist, and the others’ expressions shifted sharply. They immediately leapt from the window, abandoning the laboratory building.

Before Gu Yang lost consciousness, she caught a glimpse of the conical beam emitted by the space-time machine and heard a tremendous explosion.

In front of the teaching building, Director Liang clutched her gunshot wound, struggling to send a distress signal. Suddenly, a massive blast echoed from behind. She turned just in time to see the laboratory building collapse in a cloud of smoke and debris. Amidst the swirling dust, she thought she saw an hourglass shape—two rays of light, intertwined, forming a cone.

“Yangyang!”

Tears streamed from Director Liang’s eyes. Overwhelmed by pain as her wound reopened, she lost consciousness.

Outside the ruins, Ryan, the Physicist, and the others looked on in shock as the building lay in rubble. The Physicist, especially furious, commanded his subordinates to dig through the wreckage and recover his equipment. “I should have controlled her movements first! If anything’s happened to my equipment, I’ll make everyone in that orphanage pay!”

That device had cost the Physicist half his life; it was practically his life’s work.

Ryan turned and asked, “Who fired that shot back there?”

A man dressed in black stepped forward. “Chief, it was me. That woman dared to leak information, so I…”

Before he could finish, a golden thread sliced through his throat, silencing him instantly.

Ryan’s expression remained cold, his anger evident.

Meanwhile, the Utopia operatives had retrieved the remains of the time machine from the rubble, along with Gu Yang, who appeared unharmed. However, the Mobius ring on her wrist was shattered.

Seeing her intact, Ryan and the Physicist were stunned.

Utopia’s explosives were immensely powerful, enough to level a building and tear anything nearby to pieces. Though Gu Yang was a Mutant with exceptional mental abilities, her physical resilience was ordinary. Surviving that blast should have been impossible.

“How is that possible… My equipment was made from the strongest materials, yet it’s destroyed. How is she unharmed?” the Physicist murmured in disbelief.
