Chapter 1204: News Report

As per Fei, she would find herself standing at the edge of a cliff. In front of her was a gray mist covering everything while at the bottom was water.

The scene was the same as what lay behind the Royal Castle.

One could not take a step further or step back from the scene as the situation would turn ugly pretty soon. It was a diviner’s intuition.

"But indirect divination works, Master." Sylvia commented at this point.

"Indirect?" Lith turned to her and asked.

"Yes. I did divination on myself. I saw myself one year in the future and I was serving wine for you." Sylvia answered. There was no change in her neutral tone but the tip of her ears had a subtle redness to them.

"Serving wine? Have I started drinking and turned into an alcoholic?" Lith rubbed his chin and asked, amused.

Sylvia shook her head. She leaned into his chest and said in a low voice, "No... it was a one time thing. You wanted to try drinking wine off our..."

Sylvia took a pause, articulating her words.

"...off our... hm... ladybits."

Fei and Sylvia both had their ears turn red as their imagination ran wild.

After Sylvia divined that, she was quick to notify Fei about it.

Fei divined herself on the same day, and sure enough, saw the same scene again.

"...she is right, Master. And you did not just stop at wine..." Fei’s face flushed red.

"Oh my..." Lith sure was surprised and chuckled. "Shall we make the future come true right about now?"

"No!" The two beauties jumped out in shame.

"Master, you need to focus on the war. It isn’t over yet!" Fei complained while crossing her arms.

"Yes." Sylvia joined her and nodded.

She took out a tablet and showed Lith the current progress on it.

Lith shook his head with a smile. He took it from her hands and sat around a table nearby, calmly assessing the situation at hand.

It was a news report that Lith first saw.

A guy in a suit with long ears sat behind a table and stared directly into the camera with an amicable smile.

"Breaking news. Ever since its inception, the Asura’s main world had been sealed off to outsiders. But today, ladies and gentleman, marks a historic milestone where its gates are finally open to everyone!"

The camera panned to a mature beauty in long ears, possessing a professionally calm expression.

"The Asura capital is celebrating its first independence and there’s an atmosphere of festivities everywhere. We have Collin reporting straight from the capital’s center. Let’s have a look. Onto you, Collin."

The scene changed on Lith’s tablet.

He saw a young lanky man in a suit with long droopy ears possessing a contemplative look as he pressed at the side of his head and stared at the camera.

He nodded his head a few times and picked up his mic.

"That’s right, Brenda. There’s a never-before-seen celebration going on. People are cheering, partying, singing, and chanting slogans of being finally free. If we take a look at the place right behind me, we can see how busy everyone seems!"

The camera showed the view of people laughing and having a good time.

Children ran around the streets freely while their parents enjoyed the delicious street food.

Vendors were not here for profit today and enjoyed making and sharing their creations.

None had a gloomy expression and everyone felt liberated.

"I am told by the residents here that this very center used to be barren. Not even a rat could wander here as this was under the jurisdiction of the Asura Royal Court. But as we look at it now, it’s full of life! I hate to admit it, but the vibes here are so lively and cozy that even I can’t help myself from dancing and singing! Woohoo!"

The long-eared reporter Collin had arms placed around his shoulders by the locals and forced to join their dance.

The scene was cut and it was back to the news studio.

The mature beauty Brenda had a rare smile on her face as she said, "The happiness sure is contagious out there. Well, we are happy to report that the Asuras are not what we have perceived. Rather than evil, they could be thought of as a race which was forced into doing things it did not like due to their monarchs. While there’s ongoing debate whether the commoners’ sins should be tried or not, one thing is for sure that the Asuras don’t look like they’ll be sad anytime soon!"

The camera changed to the man in the suit.

He chuckled and continued, "That’s right. When have the Asuras cared about what others thought? They are a proud race and might not necessarily accept what the world wishes for them. Whatever the case is, I am just happy that the commoners don’t get to suffer under evil monarchs."

The camera changed to Brenda.

She pressed a stack of papers on the table and said, "The Asuras don’t look like they’ll stop partying anytime soon, but we sure have to bring an end to their report. That’s all regarding them, and now, let’s move onto their longstanding rivals."

The camera changed to the man in the suit.

"The Evure God Clan, ladies and gentlemen." The news reporter spoke with seriousness this time. "It seems that the Evure God Clan is preparing for war. While we do not know who the enemy may be, their defenses have become much more tight."

The camera changed to Brenda.

"Who could the unknown enemy be that’s making a top powerhouse like the Evure God Clan be on their guard. There’s no threat from the Asuras now, so who else? Is it the Central Alliance or is it an entirely different party."

Brenda leaned forward and expressed her solemn mood.

"While we do not know the exact truth, one thing is for sure, and it’s that there’s a new era that’s upon us. We all need to be prepared because who knows, the next attack might just be near us."

The news report was finished and Lith rubbed his eyebrows, smiling and shaking his head.

"No matter the place, these news folks would just never stop telecasting fear to get more views."

Fei poured Lith a cup of tea.

"Master, what those guys say doesn’t matter. You should focus more on the fact that now everyone knows that there is a third party involved in the war."

Lith took a sip of tea and nodded his head. "They sure do. I mean, they were bound to find this out after either the Asuras or the Evures were defeated."

"That’s true too." Fei nodded.

Both rivals would have to get destroyed together if they wanted the people to think it was mutual destruction.

But now that one was gone and the other was continuing to prepare for war, there was a possibility of a third enemy popping up.

People in general were ignorant but surely not stupid to the point where they can’t put two and two together.

"Their opinion doesn’t matter." Sylvia finally spoke from the side.

If she didn’t speak, she would almost turn invisible even when seated in between a group of people.

Only to Lith would she be visible as she made an effort to show herself to him.

Lith turned to her and asked with an interested look, "Why do you think so?"

"The Asura commoners had many opinions but what of it? Did anything happen just because they had an opinion?" Sylvia questioned instead of answering.

"Hm? Didn’t the commoners win in the end?" Fei answered on Lith’s behalf.

Sylvia shook her head. "No. The commoners would’ve never won had it not been for Master’s intervention. It was their luck that their monarchs picked a fight with Master. They did not work for their own freedom and they would’ve never gotten it, no matter how much they worked anyway."

"Hm..." Fei fell in deep thought regarding this matter. Although controversial, what Sylvia said did make a lot of sense to her.

Lith took another sip of tea and pondered on this matter as well.

In the end, he shook his head and said, "Let’s not focus too much on them. For us, as of this moment, commoners are of no use. We have to fight the Evure God Clan’s Legendary Rank ourselves and this time, the bar is set much higher since there isn’t a small handful of Legendary Ranks there."

Fei and Sylvia both nodded.

"Then, what should we do? How can we even put up a fight against those monsters in such large numbers?" Fei asked.

Lith put his teacup down and said, "My plan goes like this..."
