Aiden suddenly turned around and looked in the direction Rainn was staring.
There, a Lost Miko in a red robe was standing in a corner of the street, quietly watching him.
This Lost Miko was different. Her eyes were still gray and white, but her exposed skin had no black spots. It looked just like a normal person.
Aiden didnât even use his detection skill. He quickly picked up Cheryl, who had just stood up.
His Iron Dragon wings spread out again, and without hesitation, he used a burst of speed.
"This is a high-level Lost Miko. Iâll draw her away. You wait for me near the temple!" Rainn bit her teeth and shouted at Aiden.
"Sister!" Cheryl, in Aidenâs arms, watched Rainn anxiously.
She knew that only a very strong Lost Miko could make her sister act like this.
Aiden didnât slow down at all. He flew low and quickly moved toward the center of the Lost Miko City.
Rainn was level 70. If she couldnât deal with the enemy, Aiden certainly couldnât either.
His current level was just reaching 40, which was much lower than Rainn and Cheryl.
"Itâs okay. Your sister should be fine. Without me around, her luck should be better," Aiden tried to comfort Cheryl.
He found a place that looked pretty run-down and folded up his Iron Dragon wings.
Before Aiden had even had a chance to put Cheryl down, she jumped out of his arms.
"No, I have to go help my sister," Cheryl said, gripping her big magic staff tightly, her expression very determined.
Aiden looked at her helplessly. After thinking for a moment, he said, "If you go now, you wonât be able to help your sister. You might even become a burden."
"Also, do you know the way back?"
At once, Cheryl stopped.
She had watched Rainn draw a simple map on the ground and had memorized it.
But somehow, that information just didnât stay in her head.
"Will my sister be okay?" Cheryl bit her lip tightly.
Aiden nodded and comforted her, "Donât worry. Compared to your sister, you should be more worried about whether weâll meet more danger next."
He really didnât know what to do. Just after getting away from that strange, mutated Lost Miko, he hadnât even had a chance to catch his breath when they were already being watched by a high-level Lost Miko.
What came next, he could already imagineâthere would definitely be more bad luck on the way to the Miko Temple.
Aiden and Cheryl rested for a while, then continued moving toward the Miko Temple.
Along the way, Aiden avoided places where high-level Miko might appear, even if it meant taking a much longer route.
He stayed very alert, but what happened next was completely unexpected. They didnât run into any problems the whole time.
They met some regular Lost Miko, but they managed to avoid them.
Soon, the two of them stopped.
"After we go through this street, we should reach the center of the Miko City and find the Miko Temple, right?" Cheryl asked.
Aiden nodded. He stood in the corner of the street, thinking carefully, and finally sighed helplessly.
According to the map Rainn gave them, this was the shortest and safest way.
"Be careful," Aiden said slowly. "I have a feeling that the biggest danger is waiting for us right here."
Cheryl nodded and walked ahead of Aiden.
The empty street only had the two of them, and everything was strangely quiet.
Until they had walked halfway down the street, Aiden hadnât seen anything special happen.
He thought to himself, "Has the bad luck finally gone?"
In the next moment, the quiet street suddenly had a faint sound of footsteps.
Cheryl and Aiden stopped moving right away and looked in the direction the sound came from.
"Sylvia!" Cherylâs eyes turned cold.
Right where they had just stopped, three Miko figures appeared.
The one in front was Sylvia, the one who had attacked them before.
"Is it you?" Sylviaâs eyes widened as she stared at Cheryl.
She then looked at Aiden, was surprised for a moment, and then shouted.
"Hey, Cheryl, you brought a human into the Miko City!"
Hearing this, Aiden looked down. His black robe was already torn and couldnât hide his appearance at all.
That was unavoidable, because his Iron Dragon wings were so big, it was hard not to tear the robe.
"Is this human your slave? He looks kind of attractive. Your taste is actually pretty good!" Sylvia said, squinting and licking her lips.
Many Miko families liked human slaves because Mikoâs sense of beauty was actually similar to humans.
Good-looking, strong men could often sell for high prices in the Miko market, almost as much as High-tier materials.
Of course, that was also because very few human Reclassers entered Miko territory.
Sylvia swallowed hard and said with a smile, "If you know whatâs good for you, you and your dirty sister should give up and hand over this human slave to me. Then Iâll let you leave alive."
She admitted that the human slave by Cherylâs side had really caught her attention.
When Cheryl heard that, her face turned serious. She quietly looked back at Aiden, then turned around and gave Sylvia a cold look before replying.
"Like hell!"
"Youâve never looked in a mirror your whole life, have you? Otherwise, you wouldnât be so full of yourself."
"Look at that plain face of yours, your flat chest, and your tiny butt. You clearly have no idea what youâre really like!"
As she said that, Cheryl unconsciously puffed out her chest.
Even though she was wearing a loose black robe, her tall and big chest was clearly visible.
Sylvia trembled all over. Her eyes were full of strong anger.
"A human slave? Whatâs the point in saying all that?"
"Wait here. Iâll torture this human slave in front of you. Then youâll know what regret is!"
Aiden rubbed his nose. He said nothing, but he was already being watched by Sylvia.
Compared to the mutated Lost Miko and the high-level Miko in the red robe, Sylvia and her group werenât that dangerous.
But to be safe, Aiden still used his detection skill.
[The Abyss Miko Sylvia
Tier: Epic
Level: 66
HP: 10 million]
Good, her level wasnât too high.
Then Aiden looked at the other two Miko behind Sylvia and used his detection skill again.
In the next moment, Aiden didnât hesitate at all and said directly to Cheryl.
"I think we should leave this place first."
Those two Miko were both level 75!
Although their tier was only Starlight Rank, their level 75 was a bit hard for Aiden to deal with now.
He was only level 40!
The level difference was as big as 35 levels. If there was only one, Aiden might have tried.
Defeating an Epic boss that was level 50 or 60 wasnât a big problem for Aiden. He felt pretty confident about it.
Plus, whether it was a Reclasser, a monster, or an Abyss creature, the higher the level, the bigger the power gap.
"Letâs go!" Cheryl didnât waste words. She wasnât as smart as Rainn, but she wasnât dumb either.
Just as Aiden and Cheryl were about to leave, a sudden wind blew from nowhere on the street.
Aidenâs nose twitched slightly. A faint smell entered his nose.
The smell was a bit strange. At first, it was light, but then it got stronger and stronger, until it even had a rotten smell.
Aiden couldnât help but frown. He felt like he was going to vomit.
"Whatâs wrong?" Cheryl asked, still watching Sylvia closely.
Aiden shook his head and quickly replied, "Somethingâs not right. We should wait a bit longer."
"I just have a feeling that the biggest surprise is about to happen."
The smell got stronger and stronger. Even if Aiden didnât try to smell it, he could still notice it.
He looked in the direction of Sylvia.
The smell was coming from there.
Sylvia and the others also noticed something was wrong. They instinctively looked back.
"You guys finally came, huh?"
"Come on, come on, come on."
"Heh heh, weâve been waiting for you for a long time, really long."
A noisy voice came from somewhere.
A Meat Mountain, made up of countless Lost Miko, was silently moving toward them.
A bunch of Lost Miko heads turned, their mouths moving constantly, making all kinds of sounds.
"Eye, eye is coming. Then the key will come too. Hehe."
"Finally, we can go in. Go in!"
"Leave, leave this place."
Cherylâs body suddenly shook. Her face turned scared, and she said.
"What is this monster? Miko City shouldnât have monsters like this!"
Aiden didnât hesitate at all. He grabbed Cheryl and quickly flew toward the temple.
"Run! The monster isnât after us!"
Sure enough, after Aiden and Cheryl flew a short distance, a big noise exploded behind them.
Aiden turned back and saw that Sylvia and the other two Miko were already fighting the Meat Mountain monster.
But even though those two Miko were level 75, they were still very weak compared to the huge monster.
In just a blink of an eye, they were both badly injured and coughing up blood.
"Aiden, watch out in front!" Cherylâs voice suddenly rang out.
Aiden quickly looked ahead.
A much bigger Meat Mountain was right in front of him.
